Default Shoving pre-flop at the final table of an MTT

I'm really getting into playing tournament Hold'Em and am having some good success lately. The hand below is on the final table of a $12, 180-player SNG @ PS. I finished 3rd for $236 which is nice, but this hand has been tormenting me since last night so I thought I'd post here for some expert advice as I am really inexperienced at MTT play and just trying to learn from my mistakes.

(sorry I can't post the pretty version as I don't have 10 posts yet).

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t5000 (3 handed) Poker Stars Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver (Format: Plain Text)

    Hero (t83791)
    SB (t120075)
    BB (t66134)

Preflop: Hero is Button with Qs, Qd.
Hero raises to t20000, SB raises to t35000, 1 fold, Hero raises to t83291, SB calls t48291.

    Flop: (t167082) Tc, 8c, 9d (2 players)

    Turn: (t167082) 8h (2 players)

    River: (t167082) Ah (2 players)

    Final Pot: t167082

    Results below:
Hero has Qs Qd (two pair, queens and eights).
SB has As Jh (two pair, aces and eights).
    Outcome: SB wins t167082.

Would the better play been to simply have called his pre-flop reraise, and then shove on a flop with no A/K? Would he have called anyway with the OESD?

    Thanks

    you got it in good,
id imagine he was calling a flop push if you had have just called his raise, there would be ~75,000 in the middle with you only having less than 50,000, i dont see him folding with OESD and two overcards (unless he knew you were holding a Q and hitting his J would make you a straight) and the chance to knockout another person

You played it fine. There is absolutely no shame in getting it all in PF with QQ when it's 3-handed. And as stated above, he would've got in AI on the flop with an OESD and two overcards anyway.

Yeah, I'd have done what you did.

If you can get QQ ai pre v's AJ on the final table of an MTT you should be very happy.
Just dipping my toes back in.
