...... that I probably should've known the answer to some time ago....

I'm playing 25NL and my stack takes a hit, do I reload to the max straight away or play with my half stack (or worse).

I've always reloaded straight away thinking that this was the right thing to do. Can someone confirm?

Also, if this is right, is it always the case? Are there are situations where you wouldn't do this?

It really is that obvious.

You bought in full meaning you want to play with a 100BB stack, otherwise you'd have chosen a shortstack approach.

Therefore if you lose a lot of your stack surely you wish to be back to normal, so rebuy.

Ok, I've also done this so as not to miss out on the chance to stack someone who's fully loaded.

If there are no other considerations then I guess I'll continue to do so.

buy in for 80 bb's. you are covered by most stacks sitting at a table, and maximize your chances of doubling up. sure, you miss 20 bb's, but its easier, imo, to get it all in against a 100 bb stack when he has you covered...even if only slightly. and, there's a slight "stop loss" built in there.

and i reload to 80 bb's when my stack goes under 60 bb's.

if you prefer 100 bb stacks, reload when you go under 80 bb's. sometimes, you get whittled slowly due to missed cbets, etc. keep an eye on that stack, and keep it to the level you like to play from.
