    Default Blinds vs. Money

Blinds vs. your money. Is there a time when you should change the way you are playing in a tourney when the blinds are raising and your money is staying the same. For instance, say bb10x your money?

The short answer is a resounding YES. The long answer is so complicated it cannot nearly be explained in one thread. Search for M ratio and shortstack strategy in tourney forums.

Always change your game/strategy depending on the blind levels. I like to play more hands early in a tournament because it's cheaper. But when the blinds become one tenth of your stack, the only play I recommend is all in.

What the poster is referring to is M and it's described in the tournament Bible Harrington on Holdem 1. If you want to play tournaments, you need to read this book. Almost every player here has read it, and any tournament player above the freerolls has read it as well. Without it, you will never proceed past a $1 or $2 tournament bubble player.

I've never read it and I've won 4 decent size tournies for $1000-1500 each. But you should probably read the book to enhance your game.
