    Default live question...

a friend was playing in a home game, tornament style, with 10 players..

3 players are in a hand.
first to action goes all in.
second (my friend) calls, but stupidly shows his cards.
third player is yet to action...

    what should happen?

wha happened was that my friends cards were mucked, and he lost all the chips he put into the pot.

In a tournament that is correct, showing your hand before the showdown effectively mucks it. I am surprised no one cut him a deal though, if your friend was a begginer and did not know the rules he should have asked for his chips back or something of the matter.

In a cash game the rulings are different, you can show your cards and they are not mucked, but I am not sure what the rule is if someone is still to act, it could be considered collusion.
Flopping quads and boats like its my job

No i dont think thats right. Im pretty sure he has to play face up for the rest of the hand.

The problem here is that player3 gains unfair advantage over player 1.
However in a home game we treat this as a mistake and judge according to the situation
