A strong draw with high cards?

What will you do in this situation? Stacks are deep. Hero has AK. You raise 4xbb and get one weak caller from button.

Flop: 972

Hero raises the pot and gets reraised. At this point I would be afraid of a set, giving me 9 absolute outs and if he has hit his set there's outs for him too. What's the strategy? What's the strategy on later streets?

What if the villain is aggressive, does it change the decision? What about if we have position?

I'm asking about this because my friend bought a book about poker where the author suggests a beginner should try to get all of his chips in at the flop. I don't necessarily agree with this, maybe in some situations...

Stakes, pot size, effective stack size and the size of villain's flop raise are all very important details. And I'm not sure what you mean by weak caller.

If villain's tight or passive post-flop, this is a fold (unless it's a minraise or you think he can't lay down a set if a 3rd heart hits). If villain is aggressive post-flop, and knows you c-bet a lot, then his range is pretty wide. In this case, I like calling sometimes and 3-betting sometimes, depending on stack sizes, pot size and reads. If opponent is generally solid (makes moves but won't stack off with a marginal holding) I like a 3-bet b/c you have some fold equity and probably won't get paid if you call and your flush hits. If opponent is aggro and spewy, I prefer a call for the opposite reasons.

First off, I almost never bet full pot here. 2/3d or 3/4, or even 1/2. 1/2 is kind of suspicious because if you had a hand you would want to charge hearts to draw.

But that's minor. This is not an easy spot to be in. You either could have 9 outs, 12 outs (if he has say, A9) or 15. The fewer outs you have, the less likely you have any folding equity at all. Re-raising is only good here if you think he will fold 1-pair hands . In fact, if he's bluffing or semi-bluffing with a worse draw, then you should just call.

100bbs deep this is a no brainer. 150bbs deep, id be thinking about check/calling perhaps to hold off getting too deep to fold with some money behind (depends on opps though)
200bbs deep its an easy bet call reraise etc simply because enough players wont raise enough to blow you out of the pot and kill your implied odds on the turn (see the KJs hand i posted in 6max forum)
