$6 re-raise pre-flop? Weird. I think this is AK/AQ a lot more often than AA/99/88. A read would help, but the fact that BB is only 70BB deep makes it a push for me.

Assumming no reads, I would. Most people's 3-betting range out of the blinds isn't going to give them two pair on that flop. A set of 8's or 9's is plausable but I don't think many people that are playing with less than a full buy-in are going to raise so much with a set. The large CR looks more like he's trying to discourage action and just take the the pot down. The fact that he started the hand with only 70 BBs makes it a lot easier to just stick it in.

I think his likely range is AK/AQ/AJ or a 4-flush. People that min 3-bet PF usually have big hands like AA, KK or AK. Given the way he played it, I bet he has AK.

i wonder if you shouldnt have RRed him up to $45 pf. give him the opportunity to call with 88 99 JJ AQ, etc. he would most certainly push with KK or AA at this point.

Given preflop, I don't think we can ever fear 88/99 here, so all we have to fear is AA and, given the size of preflop 3-bet, that doesn't look likely either.

I figure villain is popping me to ~$24< w/AA if he's repopping. I shoved.

Bonus question: If you were villain in this spot and had AA, disregarding preflop are you leading the flop?

personally, i am. especially because of the flush draw. i see sets slow-played to a fault too often.

its almost a slow-play, of sorts, to bet out your bigger hands because almost no one does it. it looks like AQ here, and your AK gets crushed. i guess i hope you raise my lead, and i can drop the hammer with a RR.

what will i slow-play you ask? boats and beyond. maybe nut flushes when flopped. but thats about all.

i have received too many suckouts by others I ALLOWED free cards to. all were my fault because i was GREEDY.

just bet out. you are still vulnerable to a draw that beats you.

thank you, but i meant that if I have the AA (that was the question, right?), i WILL bet out because it actually disguises my hand and makes it APPEAR to be AQ against your AK. and to your surprise you find i had AA the whole time.

hard to believe the guy did this with AQ from the beginning, but i guess i have done that one, too. and i was never surprised to find AK under my opponents cards. i was looking for AJ, but found AK more often. so, i stopped RRing AQ preflop, unless i have position on a true LAG.
