playing against flush draws

Hi,

I just want to know if I am playing the correct way or if I'm being overly cautious.

Usually when I hit tptk or top pair high kicker but there's a flush draw on the board i always bet 2/3 or the pot regardless of the amount of people who have called me. I feel like I could be getting more money than I do playing this way. I know that in a 4 way or 3 way table

I have another question as well. If i have a big pocket pair and raise preflop (example AA raise 4x blind) and a flush hits the table on the flop, what should be my play with 1, 2, 3 callers?

I know that it will depend but what would be the optimal way to play such hands?

Be more inclined to pot the flop when you have too many callers. Each caller you get on your flop bet makes the odds better for the next to call, so you need to give the first guy a real decision to make.

ok, so if i see that there's a flush draw on the board and there's 4 callers preflop, then I should bet the amount of the pot? Should I add an extra blind per potential caller?

If i'm 1 on 1 and don't have particular tells on the player I'm playing against should I still bet the amount of the pot if there's a flush draw?

what stakes do you play? at 25 or 50NL there are lot of guys who never heard of pot odds and who can´t be pushed off giving the wrong odds. bet at least the pot and make them do a mistake calling. if they hit, so be it and try to get a cheap showdown.

in a heads up pot u should bet close to pot sized too. it´s not only about giving him the wrong odds, but if he´s not sitting on a flush draw (what he is more than 75% of the time) and the flush draw completes on 4th or 5th street it would end the betting for u.

you can't really go wrong betting like 2/3 or 3/4 of the pot every single time you bet post-flop. also, you don't want to bet huge just b/c there is a draw out. you want to bet an amount that someone will call while still giving bad odds (2/3-3/4). it's ok to get drawn out on as long as you don't pay the draws off when they complete. you make lots of money in the longrun vs. chasers. also, if the flop is monotone vs. like 3 or 4 people i'd be really really cautious. you don't want to get into a big pot when this happens.
