  • A) Yes. Your BR and win Rate at $10NL&PL support it.

    5 83.33%
  • B) Yes - Only in Pot Limit though. Play more on $10NL though until you have at least at decent BB/100 win rate. (IF SO - comment on what rate).

  • C) No - Master NL more before moving up (Please comment on what I should do in this sense if you could.)

    1 16.67%
  • D) No - You need more working to do. BTW - Where do you play at so I can kill your BR?

    Default Move Up or ???

    Hi all,

Here's the deal... playing for the past 6 months and finally found my game in the last month to average a win rate of 31 BB/100 win rate in $10NL & $10PL over nealy 3,500 hands played vs. a mere 3 BB/100 over the previous 5,400 games played before then (Actual win rate is 14.4 BB/100 over 8,750 hands). Though most of my winnings have been in PL (25 BB/100 in PL vs. 4.3 BB/100 in NL), I finally have reached a point where my BR will allow me to play $15 NL & PL.

My stats have looked good overall in the past month with a 22.8% VP$IP and a 10.8% PFR percentage (OK - maybe I could play a bit tighter ). My positional stats look smooth (except my UTG+1). I have a 15/6 UTG (I know it's high) to a rocketting 46/25 on the Button (which is my 2nd best win rate at 47 BB/100). BTW - CO is at 26.4/12.6 - this is why my Button play is a rocket. My only two loosing positions seem to be on the SB at -10 BB/100 & UTG at -4 BB/100. All other postions are winners in the green.

I have 60% of my bonus cleared on the PokerRoom site I play on. I figure I'll clear it in about a month from now. I'll then move on to another site after I clear my bonus to work a new bonus.

    My question is:
My BR is now above $300. Should I move up to $15NL & PL?

300 is not enough to play 15NL safely if you have to ask us if you can move up or not. Wait till you have 4-500.

move up, if you drop a few buy ins, drop down...

btw I'v never heard of any sites with 15NL/PL. Most sites go from 10NL to 20 or 25NL.

It's probably table selection that causes your difference, not that it's specifically NL vs PL. That is the PL players are looser so you win more, if you moved those same loose players to NL you would still win the same.

can you scrape together some more $$ to build your bankroll to 500 so you can play 25PL/NL? you obviously are a winning player down there, and you will be above average at 25.

if you think you'll win the 20x buyins is fine for any no limit stakes below 200nl.

For 200nl i like 25x, and for 400nl 30+. Variance gets higher as stakes get higher.

You are crushing your limit and I don't think the next limit is going to be a huge difference. This is one case where I think 20x buyins is OK to move up.

    OR...

Since you are crushing that game it wouldn't take long for you to get enough buyins to move up anyway.

I prefer 30+ at all levels because the shock of a downswing at a higher level really burns and can throw you off your game.
