meh.. structure is for some people, probably for most people, its not really for me. There are downs to having little or no structure, but whatever, I like it. I often wake up when the sun is setting and go to sleep a little after it comes up. Sometimes this can get me depressed, sometimes not. I just know I dont like schedules. I dont like alarm clocks. I dont like feeling obligated to arbitrary timetables.

I feel free, I feel good.
You-- yes, you-- you're a cunt.

Once you start making good money you come to the realization that you should save save save. If you can get a million or two into investments you can retire young and just live off the interest. Or you can just blow it all now and have nothing to show for it 20 years from now. I think Ill choose the first option. I mean dont get me wrong I probably spend somwhere around 75k a year and live comfortable but wasting 150k on a car or blowing 15k on vegas strippers just doesnt sound all that baller to me.

As a Las Vegas stripper, I am deeply offended by this comment. We are w0rld class entertainers, not your common streetwhore.
He who drinks beer sleeps well.
He who sleeps well cannot sin.
He who does not sin goes to Heaven.

As a sommelier of Vegas Strippers, I can tell you they are a whole other breed than what's available in other parts of the country. These are trained professionals. 15k will just get ya warmed up.

I was a professional freelance website developer for a while, and I doubt poker would much different in a lot of ways. It got to a point where I got lazy because I controlled my own hours, eventually didn't actually enjoy my work, and was always stressed about money. Now I have a 9-to-5 (still doing website development), and all those problems are gone; I enjoy my work, can't get lazy or I lose my job, and I'm never stressed about money.

I wouldn't want to ruin my poker experience by going pro. Not to dis anyone who is pro--I think it's a respectable endeavor. This is just my personal thoughts on it.
no offense to your post but that just sounds like a lack of discipline to me

My reasons that I would like to go pro:

    Work on my own schedule
To do something I have a passion for
Not have someone over me telling me what to do
To come and go as I pleased
To be able to visit family whenver I wanted in other parts of the country are just to name a few.

Reasons why I am not pro:
I have two children to worry about
    I still need more experience
I still need to fully break into cash games
I need to learn to manage my bankroll properly, I gamble a lot when I shouldn't e.g playing outside of my roll.
and I am just not ready.

We all have a little lack of discipline.

I can see myself going pro at some point in the future, but not anytime soon. Maybe a year or two from now it will make more sense for me.

I will be the 1st to admit I have a lot in terms of lackin discipline to stay in my roll which has caused me to go busto several times. But I mean maybe it's because I don't play for a living and can supplement my br whenever I want from my real job that is this way.

Regardless, I would like to stop this trend in preparation that if one day I decide to take the plunge I will be doing it with the right structure and discipline in place.

humans are goal oriented. its amazing what you can get done with goals.
