    Default Blind defense

Shorthanded game, folded to Button who raises 3½bb. Button steals top 25% of hands. SB folds, Hero is BB. What range is optimal to reraise?

Let's make some assumptions. There are 2 options:
    1- Reraise with a tight range; QQ+/AK (2.6%).
    2- Reraise with a looser range: 88+, AJ+, KQ, ATs, KJs (8.6%)

What happens if a reraise only gets called by QQ+/AK?
1- Hero wins 90% of the time 5bb. The other 10% Hero has ~50% equity in a ~25bb pot with initiative but without position. Let's assume these two cancel out. So EV=.9*5+.1*0=4.5bb.
    2. Hero wins 90% of the time 5bb. The other 10% Hero has ~34% equity.. Let's assume Hero loses on average 15bb in these situations (losing cbets a lot). EV=.9*5-.1*15=3.0bb.

The second scenario happens 3 times as often though, so if the original raiser has a very tight calling range, reraising light is optimal.

How well does he play post-flop in these spots?

Are we swinging for fences here or re-stealing?

How should our reraising range change if he's a fish or a solid thinking player?

I don't understand what you mean by this. We're just looking to get the most EV.

    Marry Me Cheryl!!!
i reraise light to encourage action, re-stealing provides me with enough bbs to bluff off n not so good spots so that subsequently i get big/stack action in other spots where i want it.

Limit table is one tab over (sorry too easy.)

I think you're focusing too much on your cards and not enough on what the Button is really up to and how he's going to play this.

Sounds like someone is trying to script a bot.
There is no such thing as free checking...
