This hand bothers me

    Default This hand bothers me

Opponent is a tight regular, 19/7 over 1800 hands. I hate making this fold in a reraised pot with draws and all out there, I just think this is a set more often than not and 88-QQ is quite unlikely to be played this way with somewhat deep stacks.
I also realise that folding in spots like this is exploitable by regulars who will eventually get a good idea what your calling requirements are.

    Thoughts?

Never read any stickies or announcements
for the love of god raise more preflop.

Folding here absolutely makes you exploitable, but it's a pretty obvious set, so I think it's a good fold. When I say it makes you exploitable, I mean you aren't really ever going to have anything better then KK/AA here which have almost the same power at this point, but that doesn't mean that this guy is -going- to exploit you. He probably doesn't expect to move anyone off KK here...

    Downswinging holla!
    Reraise to 60 total preflop.

As played I would call, although he probably does have a set it looks like. Actually, a fold does look good here. He certainly does look like he has a set here. I usually don't fold here though without a good read, which it looks like you had. Nh.

I won't say obvious set but I believe thats what it most likely is. He's probably playing it weird because he knows he needs to mix things up when playing against you. So fold flop.

I agree with the raise more pf camp. Make it more then $50 because of his implied odds.

One gradual change to my game has been that I now re-raise more often pre flop because I find it profitable. On average my opponents won't have implied odds to call these re-raises if they are doing so for set value.

I will however now try to bump up my raises especially when there is a raise and a call in front of me.

    Thanks for the feedback everyone

What's your range now - you only showed AK. I hope your reraise range is more than JJ+/AK.

From the blinds my reraise range is indeed quite tight, I just wanted to show that people playing for set value don't often have such great implied odds.
