    Default My April 2006 Plan

Starting BR for the month: $50
Ending Goal: >$250 By May 1st, 2006 so I can move up to 10NL or cash some of my BR out and play somewhere else for Bonus.

Plan: Play strictly 5NL single table games at PS (so I can fne tune my game more) till I get over $100 and then 2-table each day from then on. I am hoping to average around 100 hands per day played. I'll play no more then 10% of my BR on any given day as to avoid any bad trends (and if I see I played my 10% for the day, I'll go play and tease my cats till the next day). Also play at least three $1+0.50 45-Seat SnGs per week. The reason for this is I recently discovered two of my biggest leaks and have wrote them down in front of me to read each time before I play to avoid further mistakes.

Do these goals seem to far out of reach or too conservative for 100 hands per day (about 2-3 hours of playing)? Needing advise or a more realistic goal if you think of any.

Do you have something preventing you from playing more than 100 hands/day? Thats not very much...

Thats quite alot for single tabling.

I like the overall plan. I think it is doable, but it will be a challenge, and that is how goals should be.

Will you be playing the 0.01/0.02 5NL or the 0.02/0.05 5NL?

    Goodluck and Have fun.

if you are only playing 3000 hands this month, then I really dont think you will be able to make it to $250. You would need to profit $200, that is 4000 big blinds, so 2000 big bets in 3000 hands, thats like 67BB/100 hands and is just not possible. I think building your BR to be ready for $10nl is a good goal and achievable, just not at this schedule. I would start out 2 tabling the $5nl and trying to play like 10 SNGs a week, eventually move up to 3 or 4 tabling. At these low limits this shouldnt be tough at all if you can just stay focused, the differences between 1 and 2 tables is incredibly minimal and reads dont have a huge role in micro limits.

Hes playing 100 hands a day for the first bit of the month, then switching to 2 tables. second half of the month should be 200 hands a day for 20 days or so = 4000.

So total hands is about 5000 hands.

So 2000 Big Bets in 5000 hands is 40BB/100

Yea that is kinda unreasonable. Set your goal for a month and a half.

That means his BR would need to gain $50 in 10 days, so 10 buyins. Playing 100 hands a day means he would need to be running at 50BB/100 for the first 10 days, stil incredibly unreasonable. If he is a good player than I dont see why 20bb/100 couldnt be attainable, single tabling though and only playing 100 hands would put you at 25 days to get to that first $100 mark, I still think thats a little high.

I suggest he puts in a few more hours a day, if its possible, and starts off with 2 tables, that could easily put him at 400+ hands a day, even one tabling I think he should try to get in 200 hands, otherwise at these low stakes its going to take forever to grind out a BR.

I know it's a small investment for practice, but you realize you are getting raped, beaten, and dumped in an alley by the rake on a 1+.50 SNG?

The OP had the few wrong, its actually $1+.20, still a 20% rake, but you wont find anything better than that at any other big site for stakes so low.

My advice for you is just to stay focused. Do not expect to make $200 in under month. It just aint going to happen. Dont try and set goals that may sound good but seem unreasonable. Take babysteps and learn discipline and try to stay conservative.

Also follow the 19 hand technique for the low level games cuz it will max. your profits w/o being too involved. This will allow you to focus on others and get a feel for the game.

Remember, just take babysteps, and dont get frustrated if you start losing. Its part of the game.

It's called I work for a living (rather then play poker) and have a family of my own I am truly devoted to. 100 hands single table for me is like 2-3 hours a day.

I'm sticking to the .01/.02 games for now till I fine tune my game. When I feel confident enough after a week or two of fine tuning, I'll likely move up (unless I find I am playing nearly the same people thenI'll just rip off more money from them for a week or two more).

After some consideration, I think Icome up to the conclusion to see if I can at least double my $50 by month's end only single tabling and playing a few $1+.20 SnGs a week. I really need to fine tune my post flop game. Seems I let some hands go to early and some I chase too far.

The 01/02 game is actually a more skillful game if you buy in for $5. It has such large stack sizes in relation to the blinds that you are justified in calling raises with alot more hands preflop, which means you need much better postflop skills. If you are going to play that game Id start by buying in with $2-$3 (100-150BB stacks)and increase it to $5 once you can beat the game.

Once problem I found once I moved up to 10NL was that I felt permenantly shortstacked by only having 100BB stacks. Try and get in a fair number of hours at the 100BB tables so you dont feel like that when you move up.
