Newbie seeking SnG tournament advice!

Hi everyone, I've played ~4 months or so with friends, and also been lurking this forum, but only started up online Party Poker 5+1 SnG's and Paradise 2+50 SnGs very recently.

I'd like to start to analyse my games for leaks ASAP, but I'm not quite sure where to start. I've included some samples of my first few tournaments (condensed to get rid of easy folds/non action). How should I go about analyzing them?

I'm just a 3-eyed fish so keep that in mind.

Tournament 1:

fold preflop.

If you insist on playing this raising the first bet on the flop isn't a bad move, but committing 1/3rd of your stack to TPMK is waaaay too much, especially with the preflop raiser still due to act behind you. You lose to AA, KK, QQ, 77, AK, KQ, KJ, and KT which are credible hands (though I probably wouldn't think of AA, KK QQ and AK as those would probably be raise more - though it's hard to tell without reads).

When the raiser just calls I'm looking for a cheap showdown. Top pair is nice but it's not invincible.

Tournament 2:

you can try to see many flops for cheap early on. If you think you can avoid trouble, go ahead but it might be a bit easier to wait and pick up a decent hand and play it preferably from position.

#Game No : 2800828962 - I don't necessarily fold this preflop. I do fold it to Balland's raise but AQ is eminently playable.

#Game No : 2800895992 - why were you calling the flop and turn bets? Chasing gutshots is bad for the chipstack.

From my experience, I found that I often got into a lot of trouble by bluffing. Pick you spots and don't raise every hand PF (esp weak raises) or else you open up yourself to some of what happened to you here.

If it is the latter, ignore me!!

Also – What would you have done if you had missed the K on the flop? Or an Ace had hit? Or you had got played back at? (this is not criticism, I am just wondering).

I am not a fan of just calling this down, particularly if you were hoping to hit your inside straight. If you think you are ahead, raise. You raise him on the turn and he bins his hand, for sure. This would be the stronger move rather than you risking catching one of only 7 outs on the river.

When u are down to this short a stack, you are in push/fold mode. Just in case you are not sure what this is, it is precisely as it sounds. If you are playing the hand, you push All In pre-flop and make people call you down for all of your stack.

Another bit of advice (this is more general), and please don’t think of this as soliciting or plugging, but switch your Roll to somewhere like Pokerstars.

Firstly, the rake is only $0.50, not $1, on a $5 game. Think of it like this, you pay $60 for 10 SnGs on Party, whereas you pay $55 for the same privilege on Stars, which is virtually equivalent to getting another (free) game out of your money.

Secondly, the stack sizes are 1,500 to start, as oppose to 800 on Party. The bilnd structures are virtually the same but it is a bit more forgiving if you make a mistake or get sucked out on early.
