Your turn bet says "I hit my hand sucker time to pay me". His reply was "so did I punk, now I own you". Given that he raised PF, what AX hands would continue playing here? Most likely AK or AQ. So when the 4flush happens on the board and you bet smartly (perhaps too smartly), you can be assured that the only hand calling you will have you beat. I generally will not bet into a 4flush unless I hold the K or I feel I can take the pot with a bluff.

Edit: your opp was obviously a complete donkey for raising the turn with a Q-high flush draw but my comments still apply.

Given that your opponent raised preflop you can be sure that they didn't hit a low flush, and are trying to protect. A lot of my good laydowns are based on the following mantra....

If an opponent raises me when I hit a strong card, I'm beat unless my opponent is very tricky or loose. This thought process will save you a lot of money. There was no reason to continue when raised to 3 with a paired board in front of you. This is the time you lay down for sure. You hit your card, and your opponent was kind enough to inform you that your hand was still not best. Think about it like this. If your opponent had an ace worse kicker, he's not going to raise because he might think you're slowpaying trip 4's. If he has the 4 you're behind too. Just fold.
It's not what's inside that counts. Have you seen what's inside?
Internal organs. And they're getting uglier by the minute.
