Default Big or Little Pot Tables

just canvassing views. obviously being a greedy sort, I normally sort my 6-max tables in descending order of ave pot size. occurred to me today that many people must do the same. so tried the reverse and went into a couple of tables with 7 or $8 ave (1/2 limit 6-max - thank you Hyper)

In general it looks as though the ave pots are small (before u get there) because of passive timid players, who can, at least in the short term, be pushed off pots (despite it being limit) by a reasonably aggressive approach.

Anyway, within half an hour I was up $35 on a $50 buy-in, so may try it again.

Any similar experiences, or is this just one random and untypical observation?

You want high pot tables. Yes, this means you will get rivered a lot (especially in limit) But IN THE LONG RUN it's better. At the tighter tables you can flop a boat and bet small and everyone will fold. You want people to call your made hands and good draws.

I've experienced that too. I think the highest pot tables have the fish gone by the time I get there, and a couple guys are running over everyone else (generally). I look for the 25NL around $5 to $9 avg pot -- guys not folding everything, but can get pushed off a few hands.
    I'm a know-it-all.

    No, really.
