Default More Poker Notes to Myself

Here's some more "stuff" I've jotted down as I've gone along. (usually just after getting the tar beat out of me for doing something really stupid).

Downswings come and downswings go. What’cha gonna do about it? That’s what I want to know. (with apologies to Paul Simon)

    There’s a REASON it’s called a “gut shotstraight!

Sure Doyle Brunsen won two WSOP championships with 10,2 hole cards. What was YOUR name again?

It IS allowed to fold to a minimum bet.

Your best buddy at the table is the guy who just sucked out your pocket aces by calling 72o all the way to the river. (Don’t get mad … get glad!)

That last one is the reason why downswings sometimes last as long as they do. One person calling 72o to the river is your best friend. Six people doing can effectively crush you night after night.

It's safe to assume I'm in the middle of a -$400 downswing at the moment!

If you go look at those hands, I think he got lucky both times! He didn't win because his name is DB.

Very true. But my point with this note about Mr. Brunsen was to remind myself that HE can do things at a poker table that *I* can't. Could have used a lot of different examples but I just happen to have a fondness for "Texas Dolly".
