I've always been a big fan of multitabling ring games, but have always hated multi tabling in SnG's. The problem for me is that you can be at totally different levels in two different SnG's and have to constantly switch your frame of mind.
On one table, you might raise 3x preflop with T8s, and another table you might fold KT preflop. It was just too hard for me to keep switching my "modes" constantly. It is far better to concentrate on one SnG at a time.
That said, I don't see much harm in starting up a new SnG when you are in the end stages of another. For example, you are heads up and the blinds are huge, it will probably be ending soon. Might as well start up another game right away since it won't take much thought to fold most of your hands early on. I've done that before and it has not hurt me at all.
