What to do with 20 bucks on pokerroom..

Im pretty good at poker except for my 1.5k in debt on pr

Now ive been playing freerolls etc the past 2 that ive entered ive won about 20 bucks each but yet i loose it..I usually take it to the ring and play 1 single and loose it.
Too nasty beats.


Can someone give me some advice to what to do with it the next time i place i really need to get this money back...

Should i play taatb, i know about position etc. I just cant seem to know what im doing wrong.

Untill you get rid of the idea that it REALLY MATTERS you wont win. Play to win but you have to enjoy yourself too.

I don't have enough info to help. What do you mean when it really matters? Does that mean you really need the $20 or that since you aren't playing freeroll and have the possibility of Losing, that it really matters.

What stakes are you taking it to on a ring table? I understand more how bad beats can take $20 in NL, but ifyou're playing the stakes you should be playing with $20 in Limit Ring play, then it's not bad beats, it's bad play. If you're playing NL ring with $20 then you're bringing a whiffle bat to a nuclear war.

You can turn and burn with $20 if you play it right. I took $10 Pacific gave me for free and turned it into $250 in a couple days. I didn't stick it all in on MTT or a jump into a gun fight with it, though.

Tell us more about what's going on and you'll get more specific advice. I'm not a ring player, so I won't tell you how to play. But there are plenty of experts who can disect your problem for you.

Yes i wish it was play chips about 1500 on pr that was from ring games about 4/5 months ago since then ive learn to play tighter but yet it seems i still loose the money that i win at freerolls etc. Really upsetting to keep loosing...

tourney and ring game play are different. are you playing no limit or limit ring? I'm no ring game expert, but post 40 consecutive hands and I'll take a look. It sounds to me like your just not that good yet at ring play, and 1500 is alot to lose, so you're playing way over your head.

There are better players than you online and worse (maybe). You're playing against the wrong people and need to move or aren't as good as you think and need to get better.

What stakes are you playing at in PR? The only way you can afford to play with $20 in a ring game is if they offer microlimits with a $1 buyin. More than that and you're almost asking to lose it. You can't buyin with your whole BR in ring games. It just doesn't work.

I feel like I actually know what I'm talking about, since I took $10 in UB's micro's and built it up to over $400. If PR doesn't offer microlimit ring games and you're sure that's how you want to do it, I'd move to a site that does offer them, get some experience under your belt and start building that BR. Once you get up to $50 you may be ready to move up to $5 buyin game (but only if you're consistently winning). Then as you reach the required levels, move up again.

You want to have a minimum of 10 buyins to play at a given level. Before moving up, I'd usually recommend at least 20 or 30. The reason is that you will have times that your good hands are beaten by better hands or by people who draw out on you. You must have enough money behind you to absorb that without any pain. I've heard people post about having -8buyin swings in a day. I've done that myself, in fact. If you can't afford for that to happen, you're going to end up playing less aggressive than you should and as a result hurting your game.

you can't just "win back" $1500. that's going to take on the level of months if you're only willing to put another couple hundred into bankrolling yourself/you're starting with $20 dollars. The only way to get that back rapidly is to put mucho $$ into it to play some higher stakes games, and it sounds to me like dropping a lot of money on a bankroll isn't what you need right now. Play $25 NL for a while until you're consistenly making profit, or play in tournaments if that's your thing, but keep them reasonably priced, i wouldn't really go aiming for winning thousands at a time because what you need right now is a patient bankroll increase not getting 500 further in the hole because you're trying to win 7500 guaranteeds only.

You should really give up the $1500 - its gone! You just can't go chasing money its the quickest way to tilt, and probably how you ended up losing that kind of money in the first place. If I were in your position I would keep playing free-play till you build up enough of a bank roll to try some Single table tourneys, you can get a decent return on your money just by playing tight and picking your moments.

You may be playing tight passive because you are too worried about losing more money - lets face it fear of loss is no way to enter a game of Poker, if you are going to wait for the top hands then not play them hard enough you are just going to go out with a whimper. Worse still you are going to get less action because if you are as tight as a fat girls pants then good opponents will drop hands as soon as you bet out!

Take $20 and play three $5 dollar stt's if you lose all three then back to the freeplay, I know its hard to stay away from the lure of big prizes but the bigger the prizes the better the players and it doesnt sound to me like you are in a winning frame of mind.

If you don't have funds for a bankroll, then you need something else to get back in the saddle... namely time. The advise mentioned above is good, but I'd take it a step further.

Take your $20 from the freerolls and play the small SnG's. If you bust out go back to the freerolls. If you win... stay at the small SnG's untill you either bust out (back to the freerolls) or you get your BR up to 15-20x the next level of SnG's before you move up. Rinse, repeat untill you are playing with the big boys. Slow as hell, but time is the comodity that you have going for you. Use it wisely.
