Thinking Plays

I've been thinking alot about "making plays" such as bluff raises, semibluffs, on later streets hoping to induce a fold against 1 or 2 opponents. However, I wonder how often you think they will be effective at different levels and how many levels your opponents are thinking on. Please respond with your comment on the following levels.
1. 3/6
2. 5/10
3. 15/30

As is the case with most "what should I do" type of threads, it totally depends.

In 3/6 it will do nearly nothing, since people aren't afraid to chase or are just plain playing dumb due to the small amount of money involved.

My guess is, you would have slightly more success with it at 5/10, and slightly more at 15/30. I wouldnt even try at 3/6 though.

Yes, I've watched some tables and seen discussions about some hands that were unbelievable. I eventually want to make it there, but I'm concerned at how differently the game plays from lower levels and if the lower levels even prepare you at all for the Party 15. I just think people's ability to read the board and their opponents is so drastic at higher levels that it becomes hard to prepare for level jumps. Also, after playing small stakes for so long, and adapting to small stakes games, how much of this do you bring with you to the next level?

This is true, Ive tinkered with this game a bit, but I am not mentally ready to lose 1500 bux and shrug it off yet. I sat in a 30/60 at PP over spring break and I though it was an easier game then most of the 5/10 games. At least for the first 100 hands or so, then all the super aggressive players started to dodge me. I left up 5bb in 250 hands, but it is a totally different game.

That's part of it. The SB does tend to hang around more often. Mostly it's because you're up against good players and even the bad players stop calling with crap and start raising with it.

When the game gets that aggro, hands that can win showdown unimproved go up in value.
