    Default Hitting a brick wall

Do you ever have a certain dollar plateau you just can't pass?

For some reason, every time I deposit(usually 50 bucks since I play lower limits), I have trouble getting past $300 bucks. I typically play anywhere from .05/.10 NL -.25/.50 NL (depending on how much abuse I've taken) and $300 seems to be about the time I hit my downswing.

I've tried various different things...cashing out various amount before I actually have $300 in my account...switching games(going from NL to limit, omaha, etc).

    Anyone else have this problem?

Yes, yes i do. $500 seems to be the threshold. i actualy got up to $503, for a couple of minutes, but i dropped a few bucks raising and repping pocket 4's.

I've tried a few things. my main game is NL $25 .10/.25. i've been two tabling. Today i tried just single tabling the $50. I realized i've got a few problems. Just making myself concentrate on one game realy hilighted what i wanted to do vs what i actualy should do. I ended loosing a bit, but my game was much, much better. I found myself wanting to play rather than wanting to win.

I don't think switching games will help. but mix it up somehow. maybe two table the .10/.25 when you're around your peak. be sure to back off to one table if you loose a few buy ins. I'd suspect you get the big ol' swinging dick problem, playing to many hands, and bluffing to much. a fat bankroll makes me arrogant and slightly stupid. not real stupid, just stupid enough to keep me from making money.

Take a break, try a different site, try a different buy in. maybe find a bonus to clear, my style changes when i'm clearing.

    you'll break through. be patient.

Sometimes its a psychological thing. I had it in my mind that I couldnt beat certain levels also, but I realized that whenever I got close to my old max that I would try to push too much or play too many hands to try and get over that hump. Just let it come to you.

This is not a good mental state to be playing in.

Refering to the fact that you knew the exact dollar ammount where you peaked. When you're checking your bankroll after every hand, it may mean that you arn't willing to put your money in when you need to...

a while ago i made a post about a big rush, something like 80 bucks in 10 minutes - i checked then - so, but in general i think you're right. I do keep a running total of how many buy in's i have in my head, but that's pretty casual i may be off by 1/2 a buy in from time to time, and it's not really on purpose, more of a fun thing to calculate when i'm waiting.

Please don't take the exessive use of as me not taking you seriously

    It's a good point.

Alright. Well, the point is there! Just too curious that you new the precise amount that you peaked at.
