pot odds
i've been reading about pot odds...bit confused..
if i have top pair and don't want other players to hit a straight or flush...assuming the odds of both are no greater than 35%.... how much should i put into the pot to make the odds unfavourable to the drawers...
let say...the pot has $1....do i bet pot?
he's what i interpret....
if i bet pot...this raises it to $2...then let say it's head to head...the other player needs to contribute $1 to win $2....hence a 50% contribution and odds unfavourable for them to call? (assume chance of them hitting is 33% and no more bets after flop...)
in ten turns...
the raiser will win 6.7 times and the caller will win 3.3 times..
on wins: 3.3*$2 = $6.60
on losses: 6.6*$1 = $6.60
doesn't this mean the odds are even? then if i was to calculate my own pot odds...do i compare my contribution to what is in the pot at the time or compare to total pot?
i don't know where the flaw is... please advise...
other question... if the raise is pot...then according to pot odds should i call or fold....?
thanks.
