Picking the game that suits me best...

I have been playing online between 4 and 6 hours a day for about six months. I have been playing ring games, single table sng's, MT sng's, and MTT's. I've experienced success in all of these, but only marginal success. How do I decide which type of game best suits my style of play? What are some of the questions I should ask myself when trying to make this decision, bankroll questions aside? How can I find my niche in the world of online poker

I enjoy the MT sng's. You don't have to wait forever between cashes like it seems you do with MTT's, and also get a better payout than ST sng's. Is it really that simple? Do whatever I enjoy most? Nothing in poker is ever so simple is it?

I agree 100% with 'rilla, and yes I think it is that simple.

If you are doing something you enjoy I'm sure that you will do better than something that you don't.

Life's too short to do things you don't enjoy doing. Make sure that you make the most of your leisure time as it is a limited resource.

I like to 2 table. I'll open a SNG or a multi and a ring game at the same time. You get the best of both worlds. There is lots of action. Seeing lots of hands lets you play tighter and keeps me sharper.

I'm in the same situation. I play everything mostly NL but mix in a little limit.

In terms of profit, I find that the cash games keep me above water, while the tournament wins make the real profit.

For instance, I had a great run at MTT's last month and doubled my BR. This month, I've made many final tables or busted out early and have not made anything on torunaments. However, playing the cash games has helped hold up the BR. I clear a bonus and make a little profit which helps finance the tournament buy-ins.

IMO tournaments are more fun and exciting. I get a bigger rush and get more excited about each hand than in plain vanilla cash games. If you bust in a tournament, its over and there is a lot of $$$ at stake. In a cash game you just reload.
