I agree with 'rilla: if your stack can easily absorb the blow of a loss, and if you're near or in the money already, go ahead and call it. In a tournament, to increase your stack and knock a player out, it's worth some extra risk that compensates for the lack of pot odds.
It would be nice to have more outs though. I prefer making this kind of call when I also have a pair or straight draw of some kind.
