His flop bet confused me, why bet so much with a hand that strong?

    Don't post results.

    Stats on villain?
Currently grinding live cash games. Life is good.

2/3 pot isn't that strong of a bet, in fact I'd probably bet bigger against most villains at this stake because they call with any old crap.

As played if villain has always been betting smaller and we have now seen him bet bigger with strong hands we can make a note of that, but really we're never folding here unless villain is like super passive.

Chk/f river, unless villain is a maniac. Villain's are typically so passive at 4nl that they won't fire 3 streets without something that beats AQ.

This is a littly bit fishy thinking and bad at these stakes. There is plenty of fat value to be had and I'd recommend reading up on elastic and inelastic ranges. Two thirds pot really isn't big either by the way.

I think you played it fine. It was just bad luck he happened to have one better kicker. He could just as easily have AJ or AT or even be bluffing a draw.

4NL villain won't bet 3 streets at 2/3 pot without something that beats AQ on that board - fold river. Up until then, it's fine. And as others have said, if you think that's betting big you need to bet way bigger yourself

Yeah it kinda sucks because the way the turn and river roll out, if you were good on the flop/turn then you were probably good on the river. But when the villain throws in 2/3 bet on the river again I think a fold is best here (although I probably talk myself into a call in this situation as well)

He bet 2/3rds pot. This isn't very big at all.

It's also a board where any Ax, Kx, FD will call anyhow, so there's no harm betting big. He could even bet bigger, because his calling range on a board like this is pretty static regardless of the size of bet.
