KK, nearly 300bb deep, 4bet pot

Default KK, nearly 300bb deep, 4bet pot

I feel like I might have mangled this, I'm interested to see what everyone thinks.

    Villain is 36/26 with 15% 3bet, had 4bet 1 of the 4 times he'd been 3bet so far.

Generally, I don't think I want to be trying to get it in preflop here this deep, anyone disagree strongly with that?

I think checking behind the flop was a big mistake, but it's grim if I bet flop, bet turn and get to the river on this runout in an enormous bloated pot and have a pot sized bet or less behind. I wanted to play a small (well, relative to stacks) pot, the board was all wrong for that, but I had no idea what to do instead.

As played, anyone folding the river?

I don't mind calling here blind vs blind. I think your hand is under-repped with how you played it postflop. You need to be right about 45% of the time for the call to be OK. He could do this with TT-QQ which I think he has as often as he has a 7 or two spades. If he has AA it's a cooler. PS I like how you kept the pot small. You invested one stack with KK which seems about right.

    What was villain's FT3B%?

I think villain hardly ever has a 7x hand or a full house here, I would be more worried about a flopped flush.

I agree w/ not stacking off this deep w/ KK. I do think I would have bet the flop though.

All you could do in this situation was call the bets. Horrible flop for you. Be interested to know how it worked out.

25%, only 90 hands though, so had folded once of 4 samples.

I like how you played it. I could go either way on flop, sometimes betting and sometimes checking.

I play it the exact same, definitely not 5betting this deep IP

I check the flop almost always in position and go for 2 streets if he checks turn on safe run outs.

The problem I think with betting the flop is that even the weaker parts of his continuing range still have great equity vs us (barring a few non spade overpairs) and we might find ourselves in a position where we will have to check back turn where he can simply just bet us off our hand otr. Thoughts on this reasoning?

As played you've kept his range wide with the flop check back so I think call/call is fine, and I think he almost never has a flush/full house and his most likely holdings are weaker over pairs, pocket aces, and 7x's

Calling pre is cool. 5betting super small is cooler.

Yeah, I was talking about this hand earlier, and felt the same - I initially felt the flop check was terrible, but actually if I do bet like you said he has mostly great equity when he calls and the pot bloats to outrageous proportions that makes the later streets even tougher to play.
