Default AKs IP faces smallish 4bet from big nit

Villain is TABTA, 15/10 but small sample (20ish hands) so it's by no means set in stone yet. Hasn't 3bet once yet in 11 opportunities, and not 4bet yet either but obv pretty unlikely he would have after 20 hands. Haven't seen him show anything down.

Anyone interested in calling this because we're IP and suited? I felt a bit nitty folding, but I just felt like basically I'd have to flop so perfect to be comfortable stacking off that if I did call, it would just be because "I haz AKs, I call".

    BTN: $25.91 (103.6 bb)

    BB: $51.98 (207.9 bb)
    UTG: $38.56 (154.2 bb)
    MP: $25 (100 bb)
    Hero (CO): $70.44 (281.8 bb)

Preflop: Hero is CO with K A
UTG folds, MP raises to $0.75, Hero raises to $2.25, 3 folds, MP raises to $4.80

I had to look that one up.

I'd ship it. Perhaps I overplay AKs PRE, but I think it's a great hand to semi-bluff with good equity against even KK-.

Nitty nits almost never call 3bets OOP, so why are you 3bet bluffing AKs?

    Dunno about that, especially when...

We can just flat the open IP really profitably.

Right, there are two reasons we would want to 3bet this preflop:

    1) We think he will call worse OOP
    2) We think he will 4bet worse and we can get it in profitably.

You obviously aren't happy about 2 since you folded. Do you think 1 is true?

    Sorry for the triple post,but:

    Range.Equity
    AKs 23%
    KK+ 77%

    ---------------

    A3s 26%
    KK+ 74%

    ===============

There are better semibluffing hands if we want to shove, and those hands don't destroy a good calling opportunity pre. If we want to shove here, it's because we think he will get it in with worse.

Essentially it's going he has a very tight range, I've actually got a really good hand that plays well IP against his range. I know I'll 3bet to narrow his range even further, even though as he is opening so tight he can fold all his AQ, KQ, JJ correctly and just GII with everything else.

I don't think we should have a 3bet bluffing range in this spot at all personally, just flat our good hands IP and try to GII w/KK & AA would be my plan, so basically when I 3bet I'm attempting to GII. As I don't imagine villain 4bet/folds any of his range.

Obviously all this is speculation and if we see villain do strange stuff we can work away from the table to find exploitable bits in his 3/4/5bet ranges.

If someone acting behind you is squeezing loads then this makes our life even easier as we can fold if MP shoves and shove ourself if MP folds.

As played I don't mind folding or calling. It would be nice to know his cbet habits. If we call, I'm happy to raise and jam any two spade flop, and would still raise and jam any A or K. If we think he never calls a 3bet oop, folding worse/even and raising better, then we should consider calling preflop instead of 3betting. In general I like flatting AK to a nit ep open. I don't like getting it in preflop with AK and QQ vs tight full-stacked players.

Pelion/Savy - balla. I think I just 3bet this 'cos autopilot, I think it'd be much more profitable to flat and play in position.

If I dont have reads that villain calls a lot of 3b oop, and I don't think I'm profitable 3b/5b vs tight villains then def just flat pre, and shipping over squeezes.
