Default [2NL] QJs Vs Loose/Passive (Short Handed)

Villain was 28/2 through 64 hands. Donk bet the flop 20% of the time and only other info I had was he called my shove on an earlier flop with the NFD.

    PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.02 BB (4 handed) - PokerStars Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com

    BB ($0.96)
    Hero (UTG) ($2.90)
    Button ($4.36)
    SB ($1.52)

Preflop: Hero is UTG with Q, J
Hero bets $0.06, 1 fold, SB calls $0.05, BB calls $0.04

    Flop: ($0.18) Q, 10, J (3 players)
SB bets $0.12, 1 fold, Hero calls $0.12

    Turn: ($0.42) 4 (2 players)
SB bets $0.50, Hero calls $0.50

    River: ($1.42) K (2 players)
    SB bets $0.84 (All-In), Hero ???

I literally haven't got a clue. He was a big limp/caller and I was really struggling to put him on a range. The big bets on flop & especially turn leads me to think he has the nuts or he is bluffing. I hate the river, and he shoves! Has he hit or is it a continued bluff?

Fold the river. I can't think of a worse river card.

My gut says there's no way 2-pair wins this pot. We can maybe discount the flush, since Villain has kept firing, and your note says he called when chasing. However, there's a 4 straight on the board; it's about the most dangerous possible board for your hand. Villain has fired 3 barrels, which is almost never a bluff at micros. Hero's hand is beat by any Ax or 9x PLUS all the "coolers" where Villain has made kings up.

Shoving the turn is probably my line, though. Hero had top 2 plus FD on the turn.

Yeah as I was posting the hand I realized that I should have shoved the turn. Even more so when that river card hits.

    r/f flop
    as played call turn
as played fold river, not close.

I don't understand why you're not raising this flop.

I was worried about draws. It was such a draw heavy board and usually in these situations I panic and become a bit of a calling station. Which I did in this hand, I didn't want to raise and then have to fold to a 3bet.

I also thought if I just called I could prob get value if he misses his draws and keeps firing. This is probably really bad logic, please correct me.

What you did here was put off a decision on the flop and created for yourself a more difficult decision on the river (which still isn't really that difficult - easy fold). You know that he donks - often, so you still want to bet for value otf. With top 2 and fd then I'd make it like $0.43...if he 3bets then your decisions just got easy.

You're gonna get more value off his draws by making him put money in on earlier streets.

Not sure about flop r/f though, prob just r/jam it since he can stack worse pretty easily.

What does he tend to have when he donk bets? Knowing he does it 20% of the time based is one piece of info. But different people donk different types of hands, so even with a small sample, any tentative indications as to what he donks and doesn't donk with can't hurt.

The chance of having any pair at the flop is ~33%.
If he's donk-betting 20%, then he's not doing it with any pair.
He's probably betting some 2nd pair hands or better, maybe some draws, but not likely. Difficult to say without notes, so make that note a good one.
