Pokerstars has been aiming to roll out flighted tournaments for since Februrary, when a proposed flighted edition of the Red Spade was cancelled due to technical problems.

Today, Pokerstars.fr launched a flighted satellite, which I would speculate is a test for the roll out on the main .com platform. French players have had access to flighted tournaments for many months already thanks to Winamax.fr.

Flighted tournaments involve numerous "day 1" feeder tournaments, which last for a set number of levels. Chip stacks at the end of this set number of levels are then carried over to a day 2, where survivors of all the "day 1" flights play until the tournament is complete.
