I'd check/call to give him the chance to keep on bluffing (not that often though imo). If he has a small pair I don't think he'll call your river bet much.

Exactly, I think with $11.30 in the pot, you might squeeze $3 out of him. He has almost exactly a PSB. His range has alot of made hands like low-mid pp. checking will almost always result in a checkback from villian on river.

did you check the turn to allow him to take a stab? i think i'd prefer to just bet for value. he probably won't fold any pair or even some Ax. and i think 3-of-a-kind boards tend to prevent stabbers from stabbing. also giving him the initiative on the turn kind of restricts our ability to value bet rivers i think. though i'm having a hard time putting my reasoning for that in words. i guess because bet, check-call, lead river is likely to be perceived as a value line. and the alternative to that (if we do check the turn) allows villain to control the river action and causing us to miss a bet the times he checks back his A high's that he would call with.

i check the turn because i don't think i get three streets here ever, but i do think he can stab. I'm check-folding the turn here a bunch too depending on timing/sizing.

yeah C/Fing turn seems like a mistake vs almost anyone. especially if we have a read that he likes to take stabs when he thinks he sees weakness.

If that's your plan then c/c river also, but I still think betting turn is way better if he doesn't trust you very much.

Just reading and tryin' to reawaken my poker brain after a year off. I would bet turn $4.25.

About $4 on the turn I reckon. I like a small river bet - it gives him a chance to call with a small PP, and if he's spewy he might shove the flush.
