Default Maybe I was just too baked

Villain is J a m e s 6 6 6, a pro who plays up to 5-10. We have no relevant history but I know he can make big folds.

I expect to hear lots of "bet the flop replies" (which is ok ofc).

I am playing pretty nitty over the 5 or 6 orbits he has been at the table.

    eff stacks 145bb

I 3x QQ from HJ, James flats after timing down in the CO, folds to a HU flop:

I check he bets 5 into 6, I think for a while then call

turn (17$) is (board is now badugi)

I check James bets 13 fairly quickly, I think for quite a while then call

    riv (42$) is

James thinks for quite a while and bets 28$

I wait about 5 secs then jam for 100 more

LOL! But what you probably didn't notice is that this hand is extremely tempting to break, and had we done so, that river gives us an even better badugi.

If you remember it wasn't long ago when I took a bs looking flop check, raise river line against him as thin value with trips no kicker and he folded trips unknown kicker face up. Just keep bluffing him all day.

That said I'm not too happy about this exact shove, just because he is very likely on AT+ here based on his flop tendencies and also because you're capped to trips or worse. So in this exact spot I'd just fold.

Flop check is just fine imo and turn is a pretty clear c/c also.

I would be more tempted to call the river than shove.

I might just fold turn tbh, I doubt he's betting this card with any bluffs.

there are 27 combos of nut hands he definitely isn't folding (22/44/TT/AT) and maybe twice that many of A2/A4/T8/AJ/AQ he could fold.

I think this play could be good if we know he's folding <A4 80% of the time. I agree with ilikeaces that a call would be better though - he could be vbetting Tx/JJ along with some bluffs.

    even more I think I'd just b/c flop c/f turn !!

yeah..? getting 2:1 and there are only 6 combos of hands that beat us. while ATs makes up 2 combos already putting you at 3:1. This doesn't include the fact that this going to be a bluff a portion of the time.

How can you not bet the flop here, and I don't mind the play here.

You absolutely shouldn't fold the turn.
