    Default Can we call/3bet here?

I folded this hand, not all that much wrong with that. But I was thinking about calling or raising.

Villain is 41/32/2.8 and he C-bets 43% over 75 hands.

    BB ($11.12)
    UTG ($10.32)
    Hero (Button) ($21.28)
    SB ($11.75)

Preflop: Hero is Button with 5, A
    UTG bets $0.30, 3 folds

    Total pot: $0.25 | Rake: $0

I was thinking of calling since his pfr is so high and he checks flop a lot. So its pretty easy to see if he hit something.
I was thinking of 3betting for the same reasons. Also 3betting with good hands are more likely to be called if we 3bet crap sometimes right?

    Is my thinking ok here?

    Edit:

Also if he's button and we're sb never call but fold/3bet?

I hope you take this as constructive critisism, but it looks to me you're out of your depth at 25s 4max. I suggest you either step down a level, play full ring, or both.

Does this guy call a 3bet with stuff like KQ etc? If so, go ahead and 3bet him. If you think he's folding worse hands and continuing with better, then just call. Folding sucks against this guy short handed.

Whats 25s? Do you mean 25nl? And the table was 6 players a few hands back. To be honest I don't like to play 4max or less. Usually I leave when a table stays 4max or less for to long.

    Yeah, this is 10nl no?

I like flatting over 3betting coz we're ip, have a great implied odds hand and by 3betting we're folding out all the hands we want to keep in the pot to get value from when we do hit.

Can somebody add to this something about polarizing our 3bet range coz I started to but erased it coz I realized I had no clue what I was talking about.

    Yup 10nl.

And about the polarizing. That's really why is was thinking of 3betting. But is this necessary at 10nl? Isn't it just better to widen our 3bet range instead of polarizing it?
Guess that depends on the player a lot also.

I feel like calling. With only 4 players on table you might almost switch to HU mindset (though villain probably wont ). And since you are in teh button there is heaps of way to own your opponent on flop or later.

Right. 10nl, not 25nl. Sorry, ignore me, I'm the forum idiot.

probably a call - depends on the blinds, and you provide no info on them...

Never fold. Just call here and win the pot a zillion % of the time when you both brick. Then on top of that you can own when you flop big and he c bets since his range is so strong for doing so. Just an awesome spot to flat really.

hmmmm, at 10nl I'm more inclined to 3b pre. Villains have a general tendency to call 3bs far too often and then go all tight passive on the flop. So you end up in the same position as when you call, but you have more in the middle to steel and the initiative.

Yup, been noticing that a lot at 10nl. Pretty easy play post flop that way.

    I prefer a 3bet, call a hand like 9Ts that flops better.

This could change if we know more about his fold to 3b and 4b stats.
Nine to five is how to survive - I ain't trying to survive / I'm trying to live it to the limit and love it a lot //
