Default Middle pair (PP) on 3-flush paired turn, checked to me IP (5NL, FR)

I open raise limpers w/ 88 in MP, and I cbet the flop w/ an my middle pair. (Yes, I should have cbet more. Bad move.) The turn pairs the board and makes a 3-flush which I have a piece of, and the villain checks to me. I know it's a dangerous board, but I do have a hand and a draw. He is tight (18/12/2.1), and I don't have many reads other than I've seen him limp/call low & medium PP, and he's folded a few times on the flop after 3 & 4betting PF.

Do I check back and see the river, or do I put in a bet in now and be prepared to fold a c/r or a bet on the river?

The only way to get better at putting villain on a range is to actually do it. "I'm doing it in my head" doesnt work, there is nobody to point out where you are going wrong. The advice you get here will be alot more meaningful.
As played id b/f turn for around $1.

Whole lotta do this, do that. Not a whole lot of why, and I'm curious.

why didn't you cbet the flop normally , like at least 2/3 pot?

you r giving away the strength of ur hand by betting weak , on this type of board by betting this small ur basically saying my hand can't stand much heat. now if u cbet normally it gives u a bit more liberty on the turn you can opt to barrel again or simply C/F without feeling bad about it. when the board pairs and it completes the flush and that might actually be a very scary card for ur opponent as well , he'll play pretty honest once u bet like 1/2 psb on turn however by betting so tiny on flop it's pretty hard to say anything about ur opponent's possible holdings simply becuz u keep hiss marginal hands in and getting urself in sticky situations.

though i don't mind chechking back and getting ur hand to showdown because i simply can't think of much hands that would call u on the turn that u r beating. then again the turn pairing and flushing up my be the ideal card to barrel ur opponent of a hand like 99 77 66 55 ( if u think that's in his range). in my eyes i think chechking back the turn is pretty good if ur opponent isn't bluffy on the river since u r still beating hands like 77 66 55 but obviously ur hand can't stand much heat as well

because 66/77 will still call more than that...and you are giving everyone pretty sexy odds to continue with FDs...hell people are getting a decent price on their 2 missed overs, and once 1 person calls the second persons gonna call a huge % of the time and your hand does shit on this board multiway.

It depends on your reads and what you think your opponent's reads on you are. How have you been playing in the past? How do you think your opponent will view a bet from you?

I'm pretty sure it was just a mis-click this hand, but I think I do this occasionally (bet small-ish, though not necessarily this small) because essentially I'm afraid of the pot getting huge and being pot-committed on the next street when a non-scary card comes and I'm still feeling ok about my hand. I think this is kind of fishy thinking though ... or am I wrong? (Keep in mind fellas, this is 5NL, and I'm trying to be one step above the very primitive micro mindset.)
