Default why u should review session when u 'think ' u run bad

i wanted to write this down because it might help others who have had the same experience.

so last few days i ran bad and i didn't really mind because i thought i was doing everything right. just to double chechk i opened my HEM and reviewed all the substantial pots i lost.

after being totally honest with myself i had to admitt that out of the 6 buy ins i lost i was responsible for 1 buy in roughly of unnecessarry losses. the other 5 were coolers/beats , or maybe i 'm not good enuf of a player to get away from it but that isn't as much of an issue since i played those hands to the best of my ability.

so this means that i just added 1/6 buy ins to my losses due to idiocy. the tricky part is , it wasn't one big megatilt pot that caused it but alot of mini - tilt spots. these add up really quickly , C betting/ 2 barreling vs hardcore calling stations when u shouldn't, 3 betting light vs villains who would never fold and so on.

this self evaluation has shown me that on a psychological scale i'm nowhere near a good player. yes i read alot on poker, i watched tons of videos , yet i am still struggling to keep my cool when things go bad. this is the biggest leaks of all leaks in my opinion. making plays you normally wouldn't when u are running normal/ good.

but maybe worse , instaquitting when i'm down a few buy ins. u get into some coolers and on top of that ur AA just got cracked pfai and u think ' poker sucks , nothing is going right' , the next thing you do is firing out a bet you shouldn't and you instaquit to protect yourself from tilting ( good thing i suppose) . i'm aiming to be one of the few that can shrug their shoulders and move on and play their A game like nothing happened.

not only did it cost me a buy in by playing bad but also did it steal hours from poker when i normally would have played and thus decreasing my learning experience and potential winnings by just keeping up a solid game.

i'm the type of guy who likes instructional material. i accept things when they are written down and explained to me in a clear fashion or by a video. if some of you guys have any good material on the psychology of poker , and i'm not talking about ' tells' and stuff like that . something like ' how to not be retarded when things don't go ur way' would be the nuts.

    cheers

Read this if you haven't already:
Reciprocality: The Cause of Profit at Poker

Read it all or just scroll down to: Quitting Reciprocality & Tilt Reciprocality & On Tilt.

There's a lot more good stuff in his book.

Explain...what I do for a living without saying "I make monies in da 600 enels by pwnin' tha donk bitches". Instead I say "I'm a online financial redistribution broker". - Sasquach991
