Juked07 blog: operation beat 100NL
I don't think about my goals and my game enough. Hopefully this blog will help me do that better.
Update:
Once this gets going I'm going to put a summary here.
Background:
I started out playing completely underrolled and underinformed at 50NL a few years back, and lost several hundred dollars before finding FTR and learning about BR management and basic concepts of good poker. I've come a long way, and I've recently started to play much more solid, thinking poker.
I've been running hot lately, and I'm up 40 BI at 6max 50NL in the last 2 months, but I had some stints of trying HU 100NL that cost me nearly half of that. I was only rolled for it by mentally including some discretionary nonpoker income, but I really wanted to try HU and the effective %rake at 50NL is really killer.
Goals:
In the near term I'd like to play decent poker on a regular basis, and post thoughts and potential improvements here.
In the next few months, I'm going to try to pick up 20 BI or so more at 50NL, and then move up to and beat 100NL. I want to develop a strong lagg game and adjust well to specific reads.
In the long term I'd like to beat 200NL (6max), and then move into heads up, which I think is fascinating. I'd also like to get supernova this year.
Stats (4/28/10):
These only include the last 2 and a half months or so because I reformatted my computer. I was up about 1500 before that over the course of about a year. The 100 stats are a mix of ~90% HU and 10% 6max. I'm not fooling around like that again for a long time so I'm mostly concerned about my 50NL 6max stats. I know I play quite loose. I'm trying to play a lot of hands and learn a lot through knowing when to go for thin value, knowing when to bluff, and playing a hopefully strong laggro game in general.
