Default taking a hard look at poker training sites

lately I have been really considering sign up for a poker training site to improve my game and become a winning player.I was wondering if anyone has any testimony's for these sites?Have you been able to justify cost to return or is it best to just read books and visit websites like these?I feel as though I have a decent understanding of the game and have been trying to do as much homework as I can.I just can't seem to get over the hump, perhaps I'm just delusional though? The site I have most interest in is Grinderschool.com due to the low cost.Anyone have any opinions or experience with this?I'm going to beat these dang micro stakes hell or high water. Thx

Plitz if I recall you're playing 2nl at the moment. I would suggest you make sure you've read all the material here and watched the videos as well. Keep posting hh's and get with irc http://www.flopturnriver.com/pokerfo...-a-153854.html and keep grinding for awhile. You'll learn a lot from people here and IRC and it's free. I'm always amazed how willing everybody is to help as long as you're not a complete idiot and you surely don't appear to be.

I agree with that, don't spend money on training at this stage. There is more than enough learning material available for free online (some legally and some by ignoring some copyright laws).

in ur accounts... confiscating ur funz
I had a cardrunners account through Full Tilt that I hardly ever used. I got a deuces cracked account for the Tommy Angelo series, but didn't find anything else that I thought was worth it. There probably is, but you have to weed through so much crap to find the ones that are actually good. idk why they feel compelled to put three new videos out every day.

Honestly, all you need to get started is to search for threads started by spoonitnow in the BC and you got almost all you need. In my experience pen and paper is vastly superior to most poker training sites.

You realize that by spoon giving him a reacharound that he's also giving him something a little less comfortable.

I was/am a little tempted to subscribe for a month of grinderschool.com, because I really like the microstakes videos spenda posted here on FTR and the sweats he participated in, and I'd really like access to more of his stuff. Reading posts and books is nice, and actual play/reviewing HHs is also of course vital, but I do like videos too.

If I could legally/without hassle retain copies of some of the better/more relevant videos to me, I'd probably sign up, but as-is ... meh. $10+/month is too much for me at this point, and I think that I get the most out of videos when I revisit them every few weeks.

I think that the videos at grinderschool are downloadable for future use but I'm not 100% Can someone please confirm this?
Also are we able to watch the How To Master 6-max No Limit Hold'em by Spenda if we buy the micro account? thx

It looks like parts 2 and 4 of that series should be available with a micro account but at a glance I don't see any others that show up in the library at stakes below 10NL, which is their cutoff for what's considered microstakes.

    Regarding saving videos:

Considering that I feel I may be more of a visual learner,I think that a 1 month micro subscription for a measly $10 maybe worth it's weight in gold for me?I was just on there today again and probably will be signing up after work tonight.

Use this forum and basic concepts you've read in books. Once you've reached $25nl you can think about joining a training site. You can join earlier, but I can't really see anyone getting much out of it considering the play at $2nl - $10nl is beyond terrible that any patient monkey can beat it. In my experience, $25nl is where you'll start running into a few more regs as well as players dropping down from higher levels. Don't get me wrong, the play there is still terribad overall but this is where you actually have to start thinking about your decisions to grind out a decent win rate and not just autopilot for 5bb/100.

Go with Grinder School, at least to start out imo, because it's light on the wallet. They have some pretty good series and lectures that will improve your win rate overnight.
