Default KK in the CO, played poorly

I just sat down, villain is like 20/0 over 8.

    MP1 ($10.12)
    MP2 ($6.69)
    Hero (CO) ($5.12)
    Button ($23.89)
    SB ($5.58)
    BB ($3.37)
    UTG ($5.12)

Preflop: Hero is CO with K, K
    1 fold, MP1 calls $0.05, 1 fold, Hero bets $0.30, Button calls $0.30, 1 fold, BB calls $0.25, 1 fold

    Flop: ($0.97) Q, 7, 8 (3 players)
BB bets $0.45, Hero calls $0.45, 1 fold

    Turn: ($1.87) 10 (2 players)
BB bets $0.60, Hero calls $0.60

    River: ($3.07) J (2 players)
    BB checks

Should I have raised at some point here? I feel like i shouldve raised flop in retrospect but his donk bet confuse me. His range looks like drawy hands like SCs, maybe that connected a pair since he's donking. Should i raise here to deny him odds or is he only calling with better hand? I found this hand very frustrating, i think i played it way too nitty

I'd raise flop vs passive players, but call vs aggressive players to get more money out of air since the flop is kinda dry.

8 hands is not enough to get fancy, just raise flop imo.

As for river, he probably doesn't check a 9 but he could be checking 2 pair and may be folding everything worse than a queen to a $2 bet. Since you have no reads, check behind can't be too bad. You could b/f $0.30 maybe lol.

With 100bb relative I would definitely raise the flop - 2.5x should be fine. With current stacks I would always just call and raise or bet most turns. Reason being that you don't need to build a pot on the flop to get it in, there aren't many draws, and you can't really raise enough to protect anyway cos of implied odds. As played definitely check behind river. You could ship most other cards.
Don't be confused by the donk bet. It's mostly tpwk, some tptk, few nut hands and few draws and some air. Just because limp/call, donk ranges are super wide and pretty weired shouldn't stop you from constantly trying to put them on one.

Is there anything to be learned from Villain's dropping enthusiasm? He starts off with a half pot bet, then it goes down to a third, and then he checks. I mean in particular the ratio of each bet size to each other?

I wouldn't put too much weight on that. There is hardly anything left in his flop donking range that will call on the river that we beat now.

you have to re-raise flop. Your hand isn't getting any stronger and you should try and end the hand now. What if an Ace hits or 3 to a straight? your likely check folding to heavy action then. re-raise to protect your hand and try to finish it on the flop. You give Q-x a chance to hit 2 pair if your giving cards away too.

Easy check behind as played as everyone else stated.
