Default 100NL AKs pre vs steal vs wide 3bet

BU is 19/15 with 27% ATS - generally aggro post flop
SB is 23/13 with 14% 3bet from the SB - 55% cbet, straight forward post flop

Both have a wide range here. I'm interested to see what you guys normally do in this spot.

call if you have a nitty image

    4bet if you dont

ofc 4bet/folding with a real nitty image would be okay cuz ppl would lay down QQ and AK to you

I'm not a big fan of flatting here. We won't get value on A or K high boards, and with BU calling behind a fair amount with his speculative hands, we won't have position.

Thanks guise. Image is looser than your average TAG.

I thought 4betting pre would narrow my range a lot and *could* be exploited whereas calling leaves a lot of worse hands in there but leaves me potentially OOP without initiative. On the other hand there's loads of dead money and there's also a lot of value in 4 betting with the SB being a bit stationy pre.

I ended up flatting but I think with my image 4 betting is best.

Calling is bad because both players avoid making mistakes preflop vs you.

i like a 4bet mostly for reasons bankitdrew outlined. give him some rope. especially if you don't have a nitty image, as m2m outlined. so as it turns out, i've added nothing of value to this discussion.

    lol rope

whether to 4b/fold or 4b/call is very game flow dependent

our raise isn't so much for value as it is to bluff and then face a situation where we are priced to calling off our stack.

if you b/c you aren't certainly aren't getting it in ahead of villains range

oh ok fair enough. i thought that given this guy 3bets a decent amount from the SB, and we have a loose-ish aggressive image that 4bet/call was pretty standard. especially BvB. my bad

4bet/fold? Gross imo. It's not like it's that hard to play if you call.
