As you know, playing poker in on the Internet in Washington State is a felony thanks to a ridiculous law signed into effect by Gov. Gregoire in 2006. On May 27th, Washington State resident and PPA State Director Lee Rousso will be challenging the constitutionality of this ill-conceived law before the State Supreme Court. And he/we needs YOUR help/support.
The PPA would like to use this court hearing as a way to demonstrate broad opposition to the law and there are two ways YOU CAN HELP.
First, we need you and 99 additional PPA members to be in the courtroom for this very important state Supreme Court hearing in Olympia, WA. Washington poker players must send a loud and clear message that this terrible law criminalizing poker players violates our rights and freedoms. The courtroom opens at 9a.m. and seating is first come, first served.
Second, we need you and your friends to attend a rally on the steps of the Supreme Court that will start immediately following the court argument (estimated 10:00am). Poker legend and fellow Washington resident Phil Gordon and PPA Chairman U.S. Senator Alfonse D’Amato will lead the rally in opposition to this ridiculous law. Please contact me via email and let me know if you can attend. Please include your full name and a telephone number where you can be reached. Your information will be kept confidential and it will only be used to provide more details about the rally as we get closer to the date.
To learn more about the case, you can view briefs filed with the Court recently by Lee Rousso and the Poker Players Alliance regarding the May 27th oral arguments (Must be a PPA Premium Member to have full access to this page on the PPA site).
Join with us as we make a stand to say that Poker Is Not A Crime!
