How come, through hand history, you get to see a hand someone's mucked in online poker? Isn't that just like in a live game if someone grabbed your hand after you mucked them and looked?

Pelion is right. The rule is that all players at the table, whether YOU actually went to showdown or not, are allowed to see all hands that went to showdown. That's the short answer for why you can do it online, because it's the rules. In practice though for live games, it is very bad etiquette to ask to see the cards of the losing player because they have already lost the hand and it's like kicking them while they are down. However, by the rules, if you ask, you should be able to see anyone's hand @ showdown. Online and live, if you fold BEFORE showdown, your hand cannot be shown. | |
