    Default QQ UTG against Maniac

Villian 28/24/8 over about 220 hands.
About the forth orbit around the table. I started off getting good cards so my image was very LAG as I took down a few pots. This was the 3rd time in a row I had opened or raised pf.

Notes say: Plays very agg on btn, will push with TP on any street, opens with pp from any pos

Villians flop bet was weak although it may not seem so. I expected a push. Turn call was weak for this maniac.

    PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.10 BB (5 handed) - Poker-Stars Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com

    SB ($7)
    BB ($5.30)
    Hero (UTG) ($13.20)
    MP ($9.85)

Preflop: Hero is UTG with Q, Q
Hero bets $0.40, 1 fold, Button raises to $1.10, 2 folds, Hero calls $0.70

    Flop: ($2.35) 10, 5, 6 (2 players)
Hero checks, Button bets $1.50, Hero calls $1.50

    Turn: ($5.35) K (2 players)
Hero bets $3, Button calls $3

    River: ($11.35) J (2 players)
Hero checks, Button bets $31.40 (All-In), Hero ???

    $2.90 PF, bet/call flop

your turn play is pretty much the opposite way to own someone who is overly aggressive

I for sure would have bet flop since you are assuming he will bet, checking gives zero info for you.

Tough spot with info given .. If I am doing the math pot odds 3-1 to call all in? I would look at how profitable he has been in the 200+ hands with those numbers also that tells me something.

Turn would either be a check/snap-call shove or a jam, kinda doubt we get there with money behind but if we do we'll have like 50-60% of our stack in the middle so we're never folding, just finding the best way to get the money in on different turn cards.

this. as played i don't think your play on ANY of the streets maximizes expectation.

I may not have played it perfectly, but in the end I accomplished what I intended to. Villian was getting annoyed because I was taking all of "his" pots. This was a complete bluff with air and I knew it.

Notes and stats won this hand for me.

Maximizes expectation? wtf does that mean?

He means that your play didnt maximize your expected value.
Your line didnt present you with a way to maximize your expected value given your opponent, the board and your hand.

Checking the turn vs an overly aggro bluffing maniac, gives him a chance to over commit and hang himself. I think thats what they are getting at.

He means that your play didnt maximize your expected value. ....
Now that makes sense. I kinda figured that's what he meant but it just sounded strange.

Now if I could just understand all the non-poker related chat in IRC, I'd feel better. Anytime the chat gets informal I get totally lost. Guess I'm too lazy(and old) to learn the slang.
