    Default Open Limping

Is there ever a reason to open limp in No Limit Hold'em.

I am talking in ring games, and tourney play.

Where I play I have been seeing a lot of this and it is getting so bad that the limp then call if someone iso raises them. It is always crap hands and very seldom are they limping with AA or KK.

    Just looking for other thoughts.

    Random thoughts:
in cash games sometimes it's cool to limp/call pps if you think villains will only raise nut hands and will play for stacks when you hit
you don't want to get 3bet by basically the same range and not be able to setmine

in tournaments some people limp really strong hands like KK and hope someone raises to isolate or makes a second best hand post-flop

I pretty much hate doing this and am removing it from my game except in the most certain of circumstances. At 10NL you're going to get raised by a 50BB stack or less very often and not really be getting set odds. I don't mind open folding 22-44 before the later positions.

If the game is super passive (which happens a lot), then I'll limp small PP's early for set mining purposes. If the table is full of calling stations it really is horrible to have a raised pot, you in UTG with 44, and
2 players behind you on a flop with all overcards? [img][/img]
