Default teach me how to play vs short-stacker in BB vpip 9 pfr 9

I had a short-stacker to my left all of today and when I was trying to steal the blinds, he would often come over top. I called him once with AJs and won but I am not sure of how to counter-play the moves he is making with his mechanical system.

If he is playing 9|9...do I open pokerstove and maybe choose something like 6% of hands and push them? I noticed that if I played AJs vs his 9% range in pokerstove...I was behind so I am wondering if my push was in error?

So...what hands can I push vs short-stacker in big blind when I am on button?

    thanks

    how big is his stack?

If he has 10bb and you raise to 4bb, then you'd be calling 6bb to win 15bb, so would only need to be 30% ish. So AJs would be correct, even if it's behind.

If someone is causing you problems, just leave if you don't want to pay to learn. Table selection, FTW.

Also, if he's only raiseing 9% over your opens you could still open wide because most of the time he folds.

If you're going to stay, be willing to gambol, either he'll double up and leave, or go busto. If he doubles up and stays he's probably terrible with the deeper stack.

Remember he may only be raising 9% of his hands but he will probably be tighter in EP and looser in LP, especially to blind steals. So you might want to run something like 11% from later position range and maybe 6-7% for his early position range. Not saying those numbers are correct just illustrating the concept. GL beating those short stackers.
