Default Funniest Movies of All Time

What are your opinions of the funniest movies of all time?

It's a hard choice, but these two scenes stood out in my mind:

Leslie Nielsen's second slap made me lol for like 5 minutes for some reason.

"This sure beats Super Mario Bros.!" is my ejaculation catch phrase.

I really need to watch Monty Python movies. I only just finished watching Airplane for the first time

I should of been born 10 years earlier.

Though not funny for anyone who has been in a touring band. Too biographical to be funny.

    uh... the big lebowski ldo?

when I saw borat in the theater I was laughing hysterically the entire way through.

clerks is a good classic that hasnt been mentioned, but Im not sure Id go so far as to say funniest ever. Might as well give clerks II an honorable mention as well..

negative funny any movie by walter mathau or will ferrell. Most Jim Carrey fall into this category too, but I like Liar Liar and The Mask (though neeither is tops on the list)

Office Space is a good one for recent movies

Lebowski has its moments... I did a search for 100 funniest movies of all time and found a number of links... some of the ones I preferred from the lists include (yes I am bored at work):

Happy Gilmore, Blues Brothers, Private Benjamin, National Lampoons Vacation, National Lampoons Christmas Vacation, Mrs Doubtfire (for the whole family), Clerks, Bill & Ted, Stripes, Fast Times at Ridgemont High, Mash, Blazing Saddles, Caddyshack...

This isn't ranked, just somewhat in chronological order.

Monty Python and the Holy Grail
    Life of Brian
    Animal House
    Airplane
    Stripes
    Trading Places
    Strange Brew
    National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation
    The Princess Bride
    Groundhog Day
    Dumb and Dumber
    The Big Lebowski
    Clerks
    Billy Madison
    Office Space
    Austin Powers (First one only)
    Napoleon Dynamite

Honorable Mentions: Zoolander, Meet the Parents

Ben Stiller is too hit and miss to merit the real list.

Take the best 15 minutes out of every Will Ferrell comedy (Stranger than Fiction doesn't qualify - I mean the Adam McKay type ones) and mash them together and you'll have one amazing movie with no loss of plot.

Trading Places, Groundhog's Day and Billy Madison weren't really funny. They were just really good movies.

Austin Powers 2 deserves a mention!!!!! Not Goldmember, though.

Napoleon Dynamite was too random for me.

Btw, how come no one mentioned the Naked Gun trilogy?

You're kidding, right? Billy Madison isn't anything resembling a good movie. But a kid getting nailed in the face with a dodgeball? That's funny.

BTW, tell me your name is attempting to be clever or something and not just a massive fail of the education system.

It's kind of sad that you think you phrased that sentence correctly. It looks even worse when you're trying to show pity on another person

Then again you find humor in kids getting hit in the face with dodge balls funny. That's something you'd find funny in like what, 5th grade? Along with people tripping. That pretty much says it all about you. You're easily amused.
  38. #38
Oh, you still don't get it. Needs more facepalm.

  39. #39
Yea, kid. It makes sense to phrase a statement horribly and think you're smart because people don't understand

But as I said you find kids getting hit in the face as funny. Pretty much, you're not worth a serious response
  40. #40
Look, let me spell it out for you because you're just digging deeper...you spelled your name incorrectly.

I guess you missed the post where I already pointed out that "Deuce" is the correct spelling and mine is not the correct spelling. Although, I do not expect you to realize that. You still do not understand why the way you phrased that sentence makes no sense. Yet again, you're a person that's easily amused so I do not expect much from you.

One more thing, this is the internet. A word does not have to be have the correct spelling in order to get the point across. If I said "incrideble," most people would know what I meant (I guess you're not familiar with that piece of knowledge on how humans can understand words even if the letters are slightly jumbled) and when communicating, the point is to get across the meaning.

But I think his TV series were > his movies.

Billy Madison is both funny and a good movie.

And those two argument about stupid shit are really annoying.

I thought it was obvious that I said "kid" because I cannot take you seriously. Additionally, I said his sense of humor meant that he was easily amused. Amused in a way children are amused. I'm not sure where you got "sad" from but then again I don't take you seriously enough to think about it.

I do find it amusing, however, that you think intelligence ties with correct spelling. Of course the definition of intelligence differs from person-to-person, but I like to think intelligence is measured by one's ability to reason. Clearly, you wouldn't use that definition because you're reasoning is way off.

You obviously enjoyed the scene in Airplane where the woman was slapped multiple times. I'm not sure how that isn't childish when a fictional kid getting hit in the face with a fake dodgeball by a grown man is.

Humor is subjective. I wouldn't laugh if a real person got hit in the face with a dodgeball, of course.

Methinks you're a tad sensitive if you thought me finding your misspelled name was a comment on your intelligence. Let's move on to other business, Duecie.

And not by the fact you criticise Benny for poor lexis & syntax when you make your own mistakes that render you almost as incomprehensible as an orang utan on weed?

As for reasoning that is way off, reread your psychoanalysis of me in your get girls thread. You know, the one that was way off.

Yes, it would clearly be wrong to think that the two could possibly be tied. It would be totally wrong to dare to believe that intelligent people can spell better than others. And can complete coherent sentences.

@LaRue: I enjoyed the scene because of the absurdity, not the actual slapping. You probably wouldn't know the difference.

@Thunder: It seems you have trouble understanding, but let me try to go slow for you.

    1) I was talking about his sense of humor, not anything related to linguistics. Didn't understand that? I'm not surprised. This is the internet. The point is communicate your point. The point can be communicated even when typos occur.

    2) You actually think intelligence means one can spell better than another. Do I really need to point out the flaws in this reasoning?

    3) I analyzed you based off your response in that thread. That was a guess. Obviously I have no way of knowing for sure. That wasn't reasoning. That's just a guess, not an argument. You don't understand this either, I'm sure.

    4) You actually think I keep track of you kids. You're all the same in my eyes. People who should not be taken seriously because of their poor reasoning. Even if I called him "kid" and then said I do not take YOU seriously, it should be fairly obvious that I mean YOU (because I directly said I do not take you seriously) AND LaRue because I called him a "kid." I don't expect you to comprehend though, but don't worry. I probably won't take you seriously even if you did manage to understand.
  64. #64
But then again, the majority of you find the need to seek out pictures of women to put as your avatar AND you need to see pictures as proof to why my simple advice works. I doubt many people outside this forum can take most of you seriously.

    Oh...so sad

Not sure what you're trying to do here, aside from displaying general Duecieness. No one is right when it comes to what movies we think are funny.

I guess you do. And it seems you fail to understand that intelligence and linguistic comprehension go hand in hand. Therefore, dyslexia aside, an intelligent person will be expected to out perform a lesser individual in areas such as spelling and writing coherently.

It was based on one line. And it was way off. Which, funnily enough, is something you also attacked others for.

You're the fucking kid. 20 years old. In college.

Coming from the guy that makes Yoda sound like Shakespeare, that's rich.

Only in your warped mind, backed up by the aforementioned communication skills, is this so. Fact is you mentioned him, your reply to him, and then cited me. And that's just one of a number of fuck ups since you started posting.

No. You called him a kid and said you did so because of me. Don't try and retcon your ass out of this.

And this is just it - you claim others don't understand when we do - but when you clearly do not. You cannot write coherently, you attack others for lesser writing errors, you lie and you try and backtrack your way out.

You fail to see that you're making a massive tit of yourself, being a major hypocrite, making lame attempts at psychoanalysis whilst lashing out at anyone who disagrees with the shite you say. Is your name Slevin?

More lame ass pseudo analysis based on nothing.

As is this. Just another feeble attempt to denigrate others.

AND you need to see pictures as proof to why my simple advice works.
Talk is cheap. Someone comes in shooting their trap off, insists they are right and everyone else is wrong. And you wonder why people wanna see proof.

Same goes for someone who makes a lot of claims but has no proof.

I'm kind of important. I have many leather bound books and my apartment smells of rich mahogany.

    I want that recognized.

The thing is that you do not understand. I'm not even sure you know what "coherence" means. You clearly think that I attacked someone because of linguistic errors which I did not. It shows you have a hard time reading.

It's amusing that I point out his sense of humor and you think it's attacking his linguistics. And then you focus on random typos, without knowing the point of the concept of communication. Clearly, you're on a lower level of thinking.

Now, about my advice, I do not need to back things up. I give advice and you can choose to think about and see if it makes sense. But, seeing as you need proof, you must not know about getting girls. That's quite funny. I can tell this reflects on how you view poker. You, like many other players whose skills stagnate, are interested in learning what to do (with proof that it works) instead of learning how to do it.

You shouldn't even try to understand my analysis. If you're confusing a comment on someone's sense of humor as an attack on that person's linguistics, you will have a problem understanding what an analysis is.

It's not bad, though. Your flaws are simply humorous to me. Keep your frame of mind of needing proof to see if something simple works. You continue to keep me entertain. Now, go ahead. Continue to entertain me, forum guys.
