    Default 25NL, strange river spot

    PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.25 BB (8 handed) - Poker-Stars Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com

    saw flop

    Hero (BB) ($26)
    UTG ($25.35)
    UTG+1 ($26.40)
    MP1 ($25.55)
    MP2 ($22.40)
    CO ($25)
    Button ($5)
    SB ($23.40)

Preflop: Hero is BB with 2, 10
    2 folds, MP1 calls $0.25, 3 folds, SB calls $0.15, Hero checks

    Flop: ($0.75) J, K, Q (3 players)
SB checks, Hero checks, MP1 checks

    Turn: ($0.75) 3 (3 players)
SB checks, Hero checks, MP1 checks

    River: ($0.75) 9 (3 players)
SB checks, Hero bets $0.75, MP1 raises to $2.50, 1 fold, Hero raises to $8.75, MP1 raises to $25.30 (All-In), Hero calls $16.55

    Total pot: $51.35 | Rake: $2.55

Villain plays 10/1/4, no other reads so far.
I feel when he raises here the river card helped him. I have the second nuts here (AT has me beat), but his agression implies that he'd have bet AT on the flop or turn, right?
Since I have such a strong hand I decide to raise the checkraise and call a shove. Is this the right play or should I be hoping for a cheaper showdown?

Why did you reraise his river c/r?

You've put yourself in an awfull spot because of it, while there's no value at all in the reraise. It's even just gonna cost you both more rake when you split.

Well as played I don't know. It's 15 for a 25 pot, flip a coin. I think I call because I think he's bad. But I'm never ever going to be in this situation.

Hero should have just called the C/R.

yeah just call when he raises you on the river.

also, it isnt a c/r guys. sb checks, hero bets, villain raises, sb folds.

he has 1010 here a lot more often than he has AT here imo, and you're just donaitng rake.

Yes, I just call the re-raise on the river there isn't much to be gained from re-re-raising.

He could have limped in with A 10 and checked it all the way down; the "OMG monster slowplay" is pretty common and I could see it here as there are no flush draws etc and he would expect a set/2pr to have a pop so he would know if he needed to bet against the board pairing. By putting more money in on the river you will not be called by worse often enough.
