Went to Vegas this weekend and played some NL Hold 'em at the Golden Nugget.

I'd been getting consistent with my play money SnGs even coming 1st at an 18 seater! But with no gambling budget I found myself in the Golden Nugget on my 30th birthday and just couldn't resist.

I was desperately wondering what it would be like and I soon found out. I bought in for $100 and soon realised, as the table filled up, that everyone had a massive stack. Plus, because of the -well i'm in Vegas- syndrome, people were calling anything, real loose.

There was one cackling yee-haw sat infront of me with, what looked like, dried blood encrusted around each fingernail cuticle. He giggled, red faced, at every call he made and won claiming something about being happy and being in Vegas. One of those not quite 'all there' types. After a $15 loss i recognised the futility and left.

That said, I got 4 x 9s at video poker after sticking one dollar in. Returned $13.25 which covered my other poker loss
