Default 3/42 10 r&a disappointing finish where did i go wrong

Right after I was knocked out I felt horrible as I knew this was my tournament to take. I planned on posting a bunch of key hands but I don't know how to do this since i'm on titan poker. I tried using weaktight but they only support cash game conversions.

Can anyone suggest a tool to use to convert.

    Hey man,

first of all, this is the wrong forum for MTTs, you gotta post it in the MTT forum
Well, I'd just post the hands as they are in your HH then, if you can't trim em with our trimmer.

    cheers,

i think i played this hand poorly. This is the first of a few battles with the chip leader. This was a big hand because only the top 5 made the money at this point there were 6 left. -

I wanted to trap him but didn't want it to look obvious, I know there must have been a better way to play this.

tried to trap him here, I wonder if he'd fold to shove on the flop here.
probably could have saved a few chips here

This was one of those calls you make when you know you are beat but dont' have the discipline to fold. Plus he showed the ability to pull a move here. Alot of leaks against this guy. All suggestions welcomed! I became obsessed with getting this guy back for a bluff he pulled on me instead of focusing and playing smart. What is some good advice to playing after getting bluffed out quite badly?

You will get better replies in the MTT forum. FT of MTT =! SNG

    1) Never open limp this late, raise or fold, I would just fold unless people are really tight.

Never look at the board and say "Man I should have called!" . Make the right play and ignore what would have happened or you'll go crazy playing this game.

    2) I would bet/fold the flop. Until you get more experience I would just fold pre flop.

    3) push/fold pre flop, as played call down is OK.

    4) Raise pre flop. you may as well smooth call on the flop as played, with the CR you are announcing your hand and he can't continue wihtout an 8. Either lead out or c/c.

    5) Here this is too scary a board to c/c, even if he doesn't have the draw it will scare away hands like 7x a lot. Also bottom trips are much stronger than bottom two. River bet has no value, maybe you were bluffing which is OK.

    6) raise pre flop again, folding once you hit the set would be incredibly bad.

I thought, I'd take a stab at this before the big guns get around to it.
EDIT: Oops, too late. At least we sort of agree.

    1. (Ah3h) I wouldn't play this at all from middle position 7-handed. There are too many people that could raise behind you. Having limped, it's a clear fold. Your hand has only a 10.7% to win a showdown against the other two hands, so I would say you're pretty dominated. I might add: Jagularen taking out ForTheTurnstiles is a good result for you. Less people to share the prize money.

    2. (Qc7h) Q7o is a pretty bad hand, and I wouldn't play it even from the small blind. Your stack is still pretty deep, though, so it may not be that bad. Having hit the flop, bet out or raise. It's top pair now (and probably the best hand), but it's pretty vulnerable to overcards. The raise on the turn seems desperate. You're likely beat.

    3. (Ad4d) I'd happily call a min-raise here, too. Bottom pair, top kicker is not a great hand to flop, but since Jagularen kept making min-bets, I suppose it's fine calling him down.

    4. (Ad6d) RAISE this from the small blind. You generally call too much and bet and raise too little. The check/raise on the flop is ok, if you're sure he'll bet. (He seems like that type.) I doubt you can get more out of him. I don't think he has anything here.

    5. (6c5c) Raise pre-flop. This stage of the tournament is generally not a time for limping. Bet out the flop. Never attempt to trap with so many draws against you.

    6. (4s4c) I'm a broken record: Raise, raise, raise. Don't let him trap you with 32o for free. If you raise, and he still calls, you don't have to fear the straight on the turn, and can bet out to drive out other draws.

Unless you have discovered a weakness that you can exploit, it's generally wrong to target a player that isn't a shorter stack than you. Targeting the chip leader because he bluffed is like handing him the tournament. Let him bluff. You'll get bluffed sometimes if you play right. If he bluffs too much you'll catch him in due time.

In the meantime, use you stack to target the short stack. Raise on the button with a wide range of hands to steal his big blinds. And raise on the small blind to take the chip leaders big blind. It adds up. In general: play tighter long-handed and more aggressive short-handed. That's what works for me.
