Default Full Tilt or Pokerstars -advice please

I'm starting a new challenge and have narrowed my site choice down to these two because I like them the most.

I've withdrawn my little 40$ from another site and need to decide which one of these two to put it in, I intend to be playing daily for quite a few hours so want to make sure I make the right choice.

Are there any reasons anyone can think of, of why I should chose one over another?

    Thanks

If you are playing full ring games, (cash, not Sit and Go's) I'd recommend PokerStars because you are not bankrolled for the cash games at Full Tilt, they start at .05/.10

Stars for the moment, you can move sites when your bankroll surpasses the 600$ mark

    Why $600?

Surely $200 is fine for $10NL, even say $300 if you wanna be conservative.

    Good point.

BTW How come Stars always has a lousy $50 FTB?

Stars has a 240%, 40% bonus ($600 for the max) which clears at 20 VPPS / bonus dollar this week. 180 days to clear it.

Moving to FT with $600 to clear their bonus would be a bad idea. You need to be capable of playing higher limits to clear it in time.
Just dipping my toes back in.

Here is a pretty straight-forward guide as to what I suggest you do for maximum bonus/rakeback value.

Step 1: Deposit your $40-50 or however much it is into PokerStars, and grind 2nl. When you get to about $100-$125, grind 5nl. When you get to $250-300, grind 10nl. Continue to grind 10nl until you get to $600. In the process, you will pick up a 100% first deposit bonus for your first deposit on PokerStars (up to $50).

Step 2: Get a Full Tilt Poker account with rakeback and deposit your entire $600, getting their 100% first deposit bonus (up to $600). Now with rakeback and working on the $600 bonus, grind 25nl until you have about $1500, then grind 50nl until you have about $3500-$4000 for 100nl, etc.

Optional Step 3: Move back to PokerStars at the beginning of next year if you think that you'll be able to maintain Platinum Star VIP status or better (for full ring it's at least 53k hands/month at 50nl, 28k hands/month at 100nl, or 24k hands/month at 200nl, whichever applies at the time). You will get similar rakeback (in the form of bonuses) as Full Tilt during the months you make the Platinum Star VIP level, but once you reach Supernova you'll be making over 40% rakeback (released in the form of bonuses) as opposed to Full Tilt's 27%.

There's the step-by-step that I wish I had been given. Good luck.

    What spoon speaks is gospel.

And I will be moving this thread to the Poker Rooms forum in a bit after all the beginners get a chance to weigh in because this question is asked once a month.

Not necessarily. I cleared the entire $600 bonus at FT at 10NL. The rake at 10NL is horrible (10%!!!!) but that actually helps you clear the bonus. I played about 2 hours a day for the duration of the bonus (6 months?) and cleared it in time. Plus, there are the iron man freerolls I qualified for along the way. If putting in the time isn't a problem for you, FT is a good site.
