    Default ergh vista, compatibility folders!?!?

ok, so got a new computer and (drum roll please...) it has windows vista. So i set up everything and i'm playing fulltilt, and i want it to save hand histories. So i tell ti to save the hand histories to blah blha fulltilt/handhistories.

So i play a few hands. Then i try to set up PT. But for some reason i can't find the god damned folder. But then i see an icon that says compatibility folder and tadah! There it is. I don't even know where to start, the folder is pretty much hidden unless you go to the folder and click that icon. WTF do i do about this?

    Try this

*IMPORTANT - Remember to run all of the programs as administrator
    right click on their icons

You'll be pompted everytime you run it

Change the hand history folder location and try again

I have it set to C:\Users\MyWindowsUserName\Poker\FullTilt
This should work. I'll post it in Sauce123's thread too.

And make sure you run everything as administrator. I forget how because my beautiful vista laptop destroyed itself and I had to ship it off to get fixed.

Something in the advanced properties of the shortcuts or something.

I hate Vista. The worst is when it freezes my computer on my screen saver.

Vista's whacky, I'm definately going back to a Mac when it's time for a new computer.

vista is like the new Windows Millennium Edition....it blows. i dont think it is going to get better. i think that they will soon realize nobody wants their product and will stick with xp when possible, so they will probably just move on to the new O.S. is my guess.[/b]

I don't get what's so bad about Vista. If I have trouble with anything or don't like how something works (like those annoying security pop-ups) I just go to "Help and Support" and find how to fix it.
I guess Vista is slower than I would like but I'm just nit picking, I could just get more RAM.

ive been forced to use vista since my old laptop got stolen

but i don't have any real problems with it (other than it being a resource hog)

i just installed SP1 RC on it, and it fixed some of the annoying nags i had, such as it now remembers multiple monitor positions upon boot

It's a pig. Programs crash. My mouse just disappears and doesn't come back until I reset. Random updates are always popping up in my face. Sometimes the screen blanks out for a delayed time when it wants to ask me a question. It often just suddenly works the HDD like crazy when I have not asked it to do anything. It takes FOREVER to start up. No I don't have viruses or too many processes. Internet explorer almost always crashes when I choose to close it. It always tries to find a solution when something goes wrong and never does (just don't try you retard). It's a chore to get so many things to run properly on it. When you have something loading in the background when that thing is done loading it just clumsily jumps up as the front program even though you were trying to do something else on another program (this is SO annoying).

That's about all I can think of for now. I must admit though, that windows key-tab key rolodex feature is pretty sweet.

I use XP and IE crashes when I try to close it; use Firefox.

IE is the worst bloated piece-of-shit lump of digits I've seen in a while.

Wow, I'm so dumb. I honestly never thought to try anything else. Damn you Microsoft, you won me momentarily by flooding the market with your inferior software thereby elimnating my efforts to find similar software, this next round goes to FireFox though.

to make vista run like XP:
start -> control panel -> user accounts -> user accounts -> turn user account control on/off

    turn UAC, off, restart.

    viola!

Regarding Firefox, holy christ, I back button which atually gets you to the last page faster than it would have taken to reload the page. What a concept.
