Moving forward(and hopefully up)

    Default Moving forward(and hopefully up)

    Plans for 2008:

I don't really have anything real profound to say here. I did not really set any goals for 2007, although I feel as though I accomplished quite a lot. I moved up only 1 level, but over my last 100k hands I am running over 4.5 ptbb/100. I improved my W$WSF% from 39.53 from Jan-June to 44.40 from Oct-Dec. In the coming year I hope to conitnue to improve with the intention of moving up.

Things I want to work on:

    1. Tilt control. This never was really a problem until recently, but lately it has been a major problem. I have been pissing away BI's all over.
I have found what I believe may be my biggest help in this area: Better Resilience http://www.resiliencycenter.com/index.shtml (this is also an excellent read as everthing I read seemed poker related)

    2. Recognize and capatilize on tilting players. I am trying to get a better idea of when players tilt, then swoop in for those extra dollars. With the games getting tougher, I think it is very important to get the easy chips when they are there. I would also like to learn to put people on tilt, but I think thats a lot easier said than done.

    3. Cut down on stoopid errors. I feel I am making too many idiot mistakes, like bluffing stations, misplaying 3bets, missing vbets, etc. These are not common, but I would love to eliminate these types of errors all together.

I guess right now I am really just looking to improve the mental aspect of my game. I spent a lot of time over the last year+, working on the math, the odds, the fundamentals, etc. Now I think its time to get better at the advanced intangibles. I think that I already possess a lot of basic intangibles, because I only have been seriously playing for 14 months and have been a winning player, even if only marginally, for a good portion of it. I plan on posting every hand in which I spew excessively to help keep my self honest. Good luck to all for the coming year!!!

This weeks graph at 200. I played a little 400 on Saturday night, ended up BE. Also been playing some 5/10 Limit to get some VPPs. If I find that I am a winner in these games I might try and go for SNE, but I am not going to sacrifice my NL game just to get to SNE. Over my last 100k hands I am running just under 6 ptbb/100.

gl Jager, you've probably heard this alot but dunno if it was mentioned to you before (or i seen).

did u ever consider reducing tables and focus more on reads and such, ive seen alot of top players say they didnt develop fully till the dropped a ton of tables then they shot up in stakes.

Well over my last 100k hands I am still playing 7-10 tables with a winrate of 6 ptbb/100. Its not that I don't think I can play 400nl, I am just working out some kinks at 200.

It's funny that i read this because i (just minutes ago) started an operation with the goal of posting all my mistakes and bad hands to force myself to deal with my short comings and work on my leaks. As well as keep a running toll on my hands per day and profit or lack there of.

I have only been playing for a few months and i would appreciate any help or advice that you would be willing to give. You are not that far removed from being relatively new so your experience would be invaluable to someone like me.

Good luck with everything, i look forward to watching your progress.
    thanks...
