Default How good/bad is J10 pre flop?

Simple question. I dismiss it a lot but notice a lot of damage being done (usually to me) with it. Am I undervaluing it?

I think its greatest value comes in limping behind others during the first few orbits. And even then, you would like at least top 2 pair or a fd/sd combo.

Other than that, it's pretty weak for stealing when it gets down to 3/4 people, and definitely not something you'd want to put your tournament life on when shortstacked at any point.

    Thx.

What about when at a final table where every one is relatively short. Eg: I was 3rd with 85K (leader had 105k) and blinds were 2500/5000?

Your question is too general to give a good answer, as with everything it depends on stack sizes relative to the blinds, # of players in the pot, action before you etc...

On a very general level I will try to give me thoughts
    1. Early in the Sng it is a good hand to see a cheap flop from position, especially when suited, you want to hit the flop hard in a multiway pot, and you want to try to avoid sitauations when you get destacked with TP becuase you are outkicked.

Basically you want to play it as suited connectors early, the nice thing about JT as supposed to lower SC is that you have an option of hitting the flop with TP+SD or FD, which is a strong combo, the bad part about JT is that often when you hit the flop it also hits other players with overcards.

In the middle stages of the Sng when the stacks get relatively shallower this is a hand you dont want to limp or call raises with, if you are getting short stacked and you are opening the pot with position it is a decent hand to push, because if villian calling range is something like 55+A8+,KQ, then you are not doing too bad vs this range.
Heads up it is a again a nice hand to play because if the flop hits any of your cards you will usually have top pair
